In a story about two elder statesmen from different sides of the aisle you cannot trust either one. I don’t put it past McCain to switch and I don’t put it past Kerry to lie.

Didn’t Kerry serve in Vietnam?

If McCain gets the nod, he will offer the Veep slot to Lieberman. Guaranteed.

This should not come as a surprise to most. He is only different from a democrat marginally.

He won’t get my vote in a primary or a general election for that reason.

I would support McCain if he is the nominee. I’ll take moderate liberalism over socialism.

I see nowhere in this “story” where McCain approached Kerry. Kerry only claims that McCain’s “people” approached.

More crap from the professional liars.

This is a lie. McCain has issues, but he is no communist.

Didn’t Paul Shanklin have a song about it at the time too? With “McCain” singing “Should I Stay or Should I Go Now...”

People forget this stuff. Time to remind them.

I’ve also remember hearing maverick say that waffles approached him. Maverick made that statement before waffles said the opposite.

I don’t really like McCain, but the Dems must be seriously scared by him.

This story is a total lie. Had it been McCain who approached Kerry, then John Edwards would not have been Kerry’s running mate. Kerry would have jumped at the chance of having McCain’s popularity on the ticket. McCain certainly would not have turned it around and used it as an opportunity to declare his unwavering support for President Bush’s reelection. I would trust McCain’s word over Kerry’s any day. If you’re going to believe a lying Democrat when he says something like that then what are you going to believe from him next? People like Kerry build their entire careers on lying. I suppose next you’ll say you believe his testimony about our troops in Vietnam being baby killers?

I am no John McCain fan but nowhere does it say John McCain did this. It was his staff that purportedly did this. Yes they could have been doing this because he asked them or they could have been doing it on their own. And of course this story could all be a bunch of BS as well. Who knows at this point. I know you didn’t change the headline but it is really misleading.

Here’s “the Hill” article from March 28, 2007.

Johnny... oh Johnny... wowza. John Kerry?

“Say good night Dick.” “Good night Dan.”

That wacky Kerry. He’s just trying to stir up the pot and alienate the McCaniacs from their hero claiming he wanted to switch parties. Sorry, Johnny, that won’t cut it because most of McCain’s supporters could care less or they’re already Democrats.

BTW, didn’t Kerry serve in Viet Nam? I think I heard it somewhere, hmmm, can’t remember where and when.
