Hillary's Debate Moment (YouTube Link included)
ABC News ^ | 6 Jan 08 | Jake Tapper

Posted on 01/06/2008 3:29:58 AM PST by SkyPilot

It won't come across on the transcript, but Sen. Hillary Clinton got angry during the debate tonight.

She was bickering with Sen. Barack Obama about their differences on health insurance, and whether Obama's plan leaves millions of Americans uninsured.

And then she … well … she got angry.

Frankly, I don't even really understand what she was saying. What I was getting was how angry she is. Not about an issue, so much, as about the fact that Obama is beating her.

The clip, I predict, will be played again and again and again.

Pundits will say that her tone made male voters recoil. And led some female voters to sneer.

Clinton people are spinning this as her projecting strength. I do not think that will be the widely-head view.

HERE's THE VIDEO LINK, already posted by Clinton enemies and the debate isn't even over yet.

Tell me what you think.

-- jpt

UPDATE: She just had another weird moment, too, where she seemed to blame Natalie Sarkisyan's death on John Edwards' inability to get the Patients Bill of Rights passed in the House.

I should add that this angry Hillary Clinton is NOT one I've ever seen at the Senate, on the stump, or in interviews. But I fear her performance tonight, in contrast to Obama's coolness and Edwards' Southern drawl, feeds into stereotypes about her. She tried to address this by dismissing "likeability" as a factor -- that Americans in 2000 would have preferred to have a beer with George W. Bush than Al Gore, and look how that worked out. But still.

She didn’t look angry to me. Waste of time watching this. There are a lot more things that Hillary has done or not done that are worthy of note. This one is nothing more than a misleading title.

“I think she actually made her point very well”

Yes, except that most of what she said was complete BS (her 35 years of experience causing change, etc.).

She should simply cite the few things she has been involved in that have had an impact. It won’t be much, but it will be a lot more than anything any of her Democrtat opponents have done.

They are all talking about “change” without addressing what this really means to the American people. I think the change that most are looking for is a world w/o so much heated partisan bickering. The thing to note is that the ugliest and most continuous bickering comes from the political left.

No argument there. My point is: I don't think she came across as overly angry; certainly not in a fashion that will hurt her with her voters.

Most of the people voting Democrat aren't interested in fact-checking, or facts themselves, for that matter, or they'd be voting (at least) Republican.

"She’s America’s ex-wife. A shrew. A bully. Nothing less. Boring woman, and ugly in her attitude as well."

How dare you?!? She is a "world class genius" (according to Bill Clinton) who is doing her best to bring enlightenment to the masses. If the deluded and benighted masses don't yet fully appreciate here, well, they'll have to be forced to do so. /s

I love the spectacle of Shrillary losing her "invitability" aura..... I'm not yet convinced that the Beast is done for but it is great that she is enjoying such a challenge.....

Your photo was interesting. I love the chippy pointed forward front teeth that reminds me of the old, ugly librarian on Sanford and Son. The poor old gal used to play multiple roles and let Redd Foxx insult her. Hillary reminds me a lot of that very ugly actress.

Who in the world could possibly support this hag?

Another thing The Beast will have to guard against is letting any racist feelings show. If she starts losing badly to Obama, well she might just slip up and inject race into the campaign. She might not losing to a black man. We will see the REAL Hitlery come out then. And I believe she’s capable of being a racist. That despite of all the pandering she’s done to the black population. If she does have a slip up, she will lose the black vote faster than a speeding bullet.

I I will have the best laugh I’ve had in a number of years.

I replied to the other one but didn’t know you had posted twice on this thread. Found the second one later.
