Hillary's Debate Moment (YouTube Link included)
ABC News ^ | 6 Jan 08 | Jake Tapper

Posted on 01/06/2008 3:29:58 AM PST by SkyPilot

It won't come across on the transcript, but Sen. Hillary Clinton got angry during the debate tonight.

She was bickering with Sen. Barack Obama about their differences on health insurance, and whether Obama's plan leaves millions of Americans uninsured.

And then she … well … she got angry.

Frankly, I don't even really understand what she was saying. What I was getting was how angry she is. Not about an issue, so much, as about the fact that Obama is beating her.

The clip, I predict, will be played again and again and again.

Pundits will say that her tone made male voters recoil. And led some female voters to sneer.

Clinton people are spinning this as her projecting strength. I do not think that will be the widely-head view.

HERE's THE VIDEO LINK, already posted by Clinton enemies and the debate isn't even over yet.

Tell me what you think.

-- jpt

UPDATE: She just had another weird moment, too, where she seemed to blame Natalie Sarkisyan's death on John Edwards' inability to get the Patients Bill of Rights passed in the House.

I should add that this angry Hillary Clinton is NOT one I've ever seen at the Senate, on the stump, or in interviews. But I fear her performance tonight, in contrast to Obama's coolness and Edwards' Southern drawl, feeds into stereotypes about her. She tried to address this by dismissing "likeability" as a factor -- that Americans in 2000 would have preferred to have a beer with George W. Bush than Al Gore, and look how that worked out. But still.

You can see her fascist thirst for power in her darting, cruel eyes. It reminds me of Hugo Chavez.

Chavez has the little, beady, weasel eyes.

Her's are more like a snarling, rabid wolf's.

“In short, I had a moment of sympathy for her.”

You are a very kind person.

here...let me see if I can help.

I live in NY and vividly remember during her run for senate the day in Rochester when Hill and her goons took over a catholic church.
There were many parishioners protesting outside due to her position on abortion, and they were also displeased with the fact she had been even been given permission to speak at the church.
Her goon roughed some of those people at their own church, blocked their entrance from their own church, and she went on with yet another scripted pre-approved questions only appearance.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Edwards needle Hillary into that moment of shrewness.
She cannot handle being challenged - she just wants everyone to shut up and hand over her crown already.

I love those Obama campaign posters...”Change We Can Believe In.”

Maybe the next group they print up will say, “Prepositions We Can End Sentences With.”

“In short, I had a moment of sympathy for her. And if I, a diehard Hillary hater, had a moment of sympathy, she may garner some sympathy.”
That and your other points are well made. I would totally agree with you on everything it’s just all those dang Arkancides get in the way of me feeling sorry for Team Clinton.

” I thought to myself, that can’t be, but after years of observation low and behold I came to believe not only did liberals lie but, liberals lie about everything all the time.”

It’s the only way they can get elected.

Hillary Clinton...The Peter Principle Paradox

BTW, There is another UTube link to a video featuring Arianna Huffington analyzing Hillary.

She is Editor -in-Chief?? You can’t understand a word she says. (not that it would make sense anyway)

I saw the clip too. She did look very angry… My questions is, Hillary keeps talking about some 35 years of experience. What 35 years of experience is she talking about?
Lie’s, Lie’s and more Lie’s the old Clinton Tactic of if you say enough they will believe it. Well it’s not working this time like it did in the 90’s. Clinton talked about healthcare,
Does everyone remember back in 1993-94 when she was putting together her plan for
universal healthcare, it was behind locked doors under secrecy and no one was aloud in, that’s a perfect example of what this country would get if she made it to the white house.

I absolutely want her to be the Democrat nominee

Boy don't even think about it. You clearly were not in DC to see how nasty and vengeful the Clinton crowd was. The more extreme cases of their enforcers overreacting that you saw on TV were only the tip of the iceberg. These are folks who take dissent or alternative opinions like mafia dons. You cannot play games with this. She needs to be down and out now. Hilary not being President ought to be the #1 priority out of this election. The right candidate being president is a very distant #2.

Quarterback for the Packers...

In a news conference Deanna Favre announced she will be the starting QB for the Packers this coming Sunday. Deanna asserts that she is qualified to be starting QB because she has spent the past 16 years married to Brett while he played QB for the Packers. During this period of time she became familiar with the definition of a corner blitz, and is now completely comfortable with other terminology of the Packers offense. A survey of Packers fans shows that 50% of those polled supported the move.

Does this sounds idiotic and unbelievable to you? Well, Hillary Clinton makes the same claims as to why she is qualified to be President and 50% of democrats polled agreed. She has never run a City, County, or State. When told Hillary Clinton has experience because she has 8 years in the white house, Dick Morris stated “so has the pastry chef”.
>

Obama has much less experience than the pastry chef.

I watched the debate and saw that ‘moment’ and think much is being made of it undeservedly. She came across and very focused, mad but not shrewish.

I agree completely. I can't stand the woman, but I didn't see anything here that, if it weren't Hillary, would have caused any comment whatsoever.

I think she actually made her point very well.

These are great:
"She’s America’s ex-wife. A shrew. A bully. Nothing less. Boring woman, and ugly in her attitude as well." - Judith Anne

"What hit me was how she brought back images of Kruschev pounding his shoe at the UN. "We will bury you!" and all that." - Caipirabob

"She keeps repeating Ad Nauseum that she was in the White House for eight years. Like somebody else said, though, “So was the pastry chef!!” - djf

I asked my hubby if he would mind if I took credit for what he’s done everyday at work since 1988.

He just rolled his eyes at me.

Agreed.

Has America become so feminized that nobody can show any forcefulness without being accused of hurting somebody's overly sensitive feelings?

Do we really want to be a nation where everybody must come across as if they were auditioning for "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"? If so, let's just all vote for the Breck Girl in November.

As for me, no thanks. I already have to put up with too much of that crap out here on the Left Coast as it is.

Give me an America where a candidate for the Oval Office is not disqualified from the Oval Office by an "I paid for this microphone!" moment.

uhm....not understanding the fuss here...she actually didn’t lose it. I’ve heard her screech before...this was a controlled rebuttal. She looked pretty good next to those prima donna’s. I just want to know what they’re injecting her with so it doesn’t look like her skin is falling off.
