Fox News at 3:00 PM, now dissing the Iowa Caucus(inoculating against a Huckabee and Obama win?)
Fox News(Sheperd Smith and Carl Cameron)

Watching Fox news and the lead at 3:00 PM EST, was a rant by Shepherd and Carl, saying how Iowa doesn't matter, as Roger Ailes and Fox News spent millions covering it.
I guess Roger & Co, at Fox will not like the results(Huckabee and Obama winning and getting momentum).
Roger Ailes and his friend Rush Limbaugh, are not amused, thus this little hissy fit.

Well the expected Iowa and New Hampshire combined vote amounts to about 0.0015% of the planned vote November 2008, so why is it problematic for Fox to point out the relative insignificance of those two primaries?
They mean very little in the overall scheme of things.

John Kerry won Iowa in 2004, and steamrolled through the rest of the nomination as a result.

In the long run, Iowa doesn't matter. Now, with so many other states and caucuses on it's heels, whatever happens in Iowa doesn't matter much.
And no, I'm not for Huck, Hunter, etc. I like Fred.

If Fox News did not think that Iowa and New Hampshire were important, then they should have decided that months ago.

Then why did Fox News spend millions to cover them. Because December is always a slow news month, and insignificant or not, people like the drama of the primaries.

That doesn’t answer the question, but then that’s as close as I’m going to get so... okay.
The Iowa Caucus isn’t worth didley. That’s the long and the short of it, and if FoxNews wants to point that out, it’s okay by me.

Iowa isnt important. If Iowa doesn't matter, I'm certainly putting myself through a lot of unnecessary work.

Kind of sounds like the hissy-fit is coming from your end and Huckabee's.
Huckabee made his Dean moment this week with the ad stunt. That was the first time the press didn't want to buy his snake oil.

Iowa. Big deal. Who won it in 2004? Didnt Dean win there? No Kerry did, Dean came in near the bottom. The last polls had Dean in the lead and he was the presumptive winner...until the caucus happened.
Watch for Fred to finish second or a strong third...unless everyone comes to their senses in Iowa. In that case he wins.

B.J. Clinton did not win Iowa or NH in '92, but nonetheless went on to fame and fortune.

Because December is always a slow news month, and insignificant or not, people like the drama of the primaries. Isn't that intellectually dishonest on Fox News's part?
