Ron Paul blames the assassination of Benazir Bhutto on the “interventionist”
policy of the United States, and says Al Qaeda is justified in being “annoyed” at us.
What I'm trying to say is that FReepers already know where Paul stands on foreign policy. It's not like what he said here is earth-shattering. Indeed, the poster of this thread probably broke a vertebrae rushing to post it here and enjoy the subsequent comments. (Cue scene from "Gladiator")
If Paul would have blamed the terrorists (actually he somewhat did in the video, the supporters of Musharraf or Musharraf himself weren't exactly nice people) you guys would be screaming that he's a hypocrite or "faking it" to get some pro-war votes. Really, I think some of hyperventilating over Paul is becoming excessive. Why not wait until he crash and burns in the primaries, then you can laugh to your heart's content?

I note that you put “Blame America First” in quotation marks. Since you did, you are apparently claiming that Paul said this. please provide the source for the quotation from Paul in which he said “Blame America First.” Then again, you may actually want to try something new: discussing what Paul actually said.
No way I would confuse the two.
The point is, he can make these outrageous “hide behind the wall” statement since there are no consequences. His kooks eat it up since they think he’s serious, while the rest of us see right though it.
There are a number of conservatives that got tired of standing w/our Troops so they can use this language to wash their hands of the war. They are forced to swallow his craziness to keep their hands clean.

I never claimed Paul said that. I meant to convey the Blame America First type of ideology that people like Chomsky, Michael Moore and their ilk believe in.

Nobody dispises or hates that kook. That would take a far greater amount of respect than anybody here has for the nutball. We detest his statements and marvel at your ability to march lockstep.

He'd have to say something truly outlandish or his official campaign actively get involved with the conspiracy nuts and white supremacists.

It is, but let's be objective here. Paul supports a non-interventionist foreign policy. What do you want him to say? We should send more troops to Pakistan and this is why we should stay the course? He'd be flip-flopping then.

When has Paul blamed America? You really need to drop your predisposition of Paul and really understand what he's saying instead of getting the spin from your buddies here.
Perhaps don’t hate Paul...though given the number of posts on him, you and many others are certainly preoccupied with a “one percenter” who doesn’t have a chance to win (or so we are told).
I watched the video and didn’t see that.
He said that we are supporting a dictator. He said that we had sent them billions of dollars. He said that Musharraf has 8% support. He said that The populace is unhappy.
He just stated the obvious. So where is the lie?
Just one more reason why he isn’t fit to run pantyhose, let alone be the leader of the Free World.
But Ron Paul loves the Constitution, so nothing else matters.
