Desperate to take support from wherever he can get it.

Some - well more like all of two readers have gotten a little cross-eyed over the fact that I dared to imply that George Soros/MoveOn forces were working covertly to assist the most Soros-like candidate on the GOP ticket.

The truth is some of the support has been covert, some of it rather obvious...

For instance one MoveOn group assisted in the funding and production of this television ad:

I had wondered about the possibility of MoveOn working in favor of Ron Paul. Good that it is finally being exposed.

I got hassled by a Paulite on another thread a few days ago for suggesting Soros might be in this somewhere. Good to see I was right, and the Paulite was wrong. Whoever is funding him, he’s creepy.

I knew the MO-rons were backing Ron Paul the minute I saw banners hanging from freeway overpasses all over Northern California in August. NO Republican activists would be that loony.

George Soros is using MoveOn.org to split up the Republican voters to get a weak nominee. In the general election he wants a repeat of what Ross Perot did and get Clinton elected.

Its the only way he can be sure the socialist candidate wins. He can’t count of 51% of Americans to vote demoncrat.

I knew something was up. Those donors for Paul cannot come from sane liberty-loving Americans.

William the Impeached never had more than 45%, if I recall... it’s just that the GOP had even less.

If this revelation doesn’t ruin Paul for all time, then nothing short of Arkancide will.

Clintoon got 43% in 1992 and 49% in 1996 despite having Bob Dole implode and basically running unopposed in most states.

No democrat has won the White House with more than 50% of the vote since 1976. A long, long, long time.

At least this takes away money which would otherwise be going to just the Democrats. In a strange kind of way, this is a good thing because Ron Paul definitely won’t be getting the final GOP nod for President for ‘08.

You're exactly right. We're all being played.

Soros is hoping that by contributing to Paul ostracizing himself out of the GOP field, it will force him down a third-party road, and like it or not, that move will steal away some of the libertarian wing of the party's votes.

It wouldn't surprise me at this point to find Soros behind some of the spin between Romney vs. Huckabee over the last week. I don't think he'd restrict his meddling to a single candidate.

I think it is a shame some of Paul's statements lately have been spun out of control, but geez...Paul's got to know that saying things like the flag and cross comment in this day and age of politics is going to draw MAJOR ire. That brain mouth thing will be his downfall.

The original ending of the ad, which has been edited by the blogger, does not show where the money is really going to.

The video was made within hours and up on youtube after one of the republican debates. It directed the viewers to donate to three organizations including moveon.org. Wonder why that was edited out?

Moveon.org is trying to raise funds using Ron Paul’s name. The campaign is aware of this from the several emails they have received since the video went up. My guess is the video is at least two months old.

Moveon.org, according to filings has not donated to ANY presidential candidate so far in 08. NO MONEY TO PAUL, none from Soros.

People can believe what they want especially when they are not willing to check the facts.

Trust, but verify as Ronald Reagan would say.

Moveon.org is trying to raise funds using Ron Paul’s name.

And Dr. Paul has stated that he doesn't appreciate these wackos using his name, per his interview with Glen Beck.

But why let facts interrupt the wet dreams of the Paul haters? I think it's time for Paul to come out with a press conference completely denouncing all of this crap.

My understanding is the RP Campaign is looking into investigating moveon.org. This is not the first time moveon.org has falsely raised or attempted to raise money using someone else’s name or organization without their permission.

It does make for fun fodder.

Interesting perspective & analysis. How would that be proven? I doubt the MSM would play along.

According to Intrade, the winner of the December 12th GOP debate was... Duncan Hunter.
