YouTube video via Drudge- Ron Paul quote this morning on Fox and Friends- "When fascism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross. "
Figured you’d like to see what I was talking about.
ok. I apologize my friend.
“When the Moonbats come, theyll be carrying Ron Paul Revolution signs.”
I am in Mass and I have seen bumper stickers on buildings and property with Ron Paul for prez.
When I first saw those, I knew this guy was a loon.
I would see protesters with Ron Paul for Prez signs.
The usual protesters whining about the palistains.
I am willing to bet george soros is funding this guy.
Sometimes I wish TR would revisit Earth and beat the c**p out of certain persons who call themselves patriots.
No problemo.
As an early Goldwater supporter, later Reagan supporter, I would emphatically deny your suggestion. Dr. Paul is the candidate of those of us who have throughout our adult lives fought for the values of the Founding Fathers, for a political society based upon individual responsibility and accountability; for public office holders who respect the limitations on their power and prerogatives; for sound money and secure borders.
You also define "liberals," in a way that really does not scan. What you have suggested is not "liberal," or libertarian, but part of the ACLU attack on the Faith that underpins the mettle of most American Conservatives. Certainly that is very far indeed from a fair comment here. Ron Paul is, himself, a man of strong relgious Faith. But as an advocate of the limited Government that the Founding Fathers vouchsafed to their posterity, that is not an issue in this campaign.

Any candidate for President generally accepts donations from people of all kinds, including individuals who subscribe to collective ideas. We ought consider a danger those collective ideas that would, in practice, override individual rights and responsibilities, particularly when they would be subsumed under the authority of the Federal Government.
I do not want a President who attains to the office of Theologian in Chief. Such danger does not reside in the person of Ron Paul, but it might reside in a candidate who uses his particular faith explicitly as a reason to be elected.
They’re offended by FR, who’d have thought.
Dr. Paul and his wife were married in a Presbyterian church, and their five children were baptized Episcopalian. I’m not sure what church he attends now.
I am fairly sure that he’s not a Christian-hater, though.
Yep, thats why I copied it.
Its amusing, especially if you know the site hostess there posted in the last year she wouldn’t allow her site to be used to bash other forums....note how many FR bashing threads you can find in the ‘biker bar’ section, going back for years.
for a time they had a weekly - sometimes daily - thread titled ‘Jim Robinson watch’.
Ya know what else is amusing? That site owner still has an account here at FR....
Most of em are still pissed they got banned from here. Its basically the only reason that site exists, along with its ‘LP lite’ offshoots for the even more insane, like Freedumb4em....(chuckle)
I’ve seen lots of Ron Paul campaign advocacy over here, which is surprising since this borough probably has more crossdressers than voters enrolled in the LP.
yep
I would prefer Christian haters to be honest....but they hide
Dr. Paul has promised his wife that he will only run as a Republican. So of course, he’d deny any intention of running third-party.
Now I am a registered independent, not a republican, so until November, I won't be able to place my mark.
I agree with Paul. The candiates are not running for National Pastor. And if Huckabee is nominated, say hello to Obama, or Hillary, or however.
Why? Americans like having a little religion with their candiates, but not to the point of thats their identity. We like our leaders to speak of g-d in those general terms, and those terms are ideas of hope and deliverance and thanks. I guess what I am saying is that as a nation we like haveing our president appearing to be non-denominational. We don;t mind the cross, we just don't want to be beaten with it.
As an independent, I like THompson and I like Paul. Methinks here on this board, the republicans don;t like Paul because his stance on getting away from foriegn entanglements. And quite frankly I dont; like my money going to the Palis (THanks Condi), or a host of other "Stanistans".
I also like the idea of abolishing govenment agency after government agency.
THe president is not the nations schools superintendent.
Although unrealistic, I would like to see the US bring ALL troops home. Build the militray back to a 2.5 million man army. Bring the Navy back to at least a 600 ship navy. Beef up the airforce.
I would also like to see a crash re-industrialization of America.
I would also like to see a full exploitation of our resources to the ends that we develop NEW renewable, "miracle" resources.
Borders that are secure, both north and south, east and west.
equal trade
No treaties, except for trade treaties. Maybe a 50 year "time out" from world entanglements. Neutral, Neutral, Neutral....
Isolation? Sure, why not for a while. Screw em all. But that doesn't not mean America as a pansy. Any threat will be met with total destruction and salt will be spread on the spot as a warning...
Its an unrealistic dream
But I have digressed severely here.
Well its enough to chew on for the moment. Flame on folks!
You don't say. Well the few folks I've talked to that heard it in context and have seen Tax Hike Mike's ad think the criticism works quite well.
If your point is that Ron Paul is the punch line of a political joke, I agree.
Dag! I thought for sure it would be wrapped in a burqa and carrying the Koran.
Hot diggidy doodily! Sure is a swell thing to have all these neat politicians leading the way, neighbor.
