The leader of more than a billion Roman Catholics suggested that fears over man-made emissions melting the ice caps and causing a wave of unprecedented disasters were nothing more than scare-mongering.

Got bias?
A broad consensus is developing among the world's scientific community over the evils of climate change.
Oooohhhh. Nice. A broad consensus, all fluffy and light.
But there is also an intransigent body of scientific opinion which continues to insist that industrial emissions are not to blame for the phenomenon.
Oh, dear. Those intransigents, again. Not very nice at all.

Good for Pope Benedict. And once again for Cardinal Pell.

"Broad consensus" vs "intransigent opinion." No bias there. . . .

Let’s see...
Christ in his brief time on Earth selectively kicked ass on numerous occasions.
The Pope, through St. Peter, is Christ’s directly designated representative and guardian of The Church here on Earth.
So I’m going to go with Yes, it is permissable to recognize and celebrate a Papal butt walloping.

Good to hear. I was concerned that he was going over to the dark side on this issue b some things he said a while back. At the time the remarks sounded a little to mindlessly green to me.
