Why Liberal Women Dislike Hillary Clinton
CBS ^ | 12.07.07 | Keach Hagey

Jane Fonda summed up this view best in which she called Clinton "a ventriloquist for the patriarchy with a skirt and a vagina." (It would be such a great quote, except when was the last time Hillary wore a skirt?).......

They are like her, but they don't like her.

Such is the curious phenomenon of many educated, professional, liberal women of a certain age when it comes to Hillary Clinton, the Los Angeles Times reports. In fact, upper-middle-class women on the left are "historically her toughest crowd," the paper reports.

Why is this? The Times offers a handful of possibilities:

1) They're not as worried about job security as their more blue-collar peers (who are more pro-Clinton), so they feel free to judge the New York Senator as a peer.

2) They're disgusted by the fact that, while they struggled to break through barriers in the workplace, Clinton hitched her star to her man and followed him to the top.

3) They're disappointed by her support of the Iraq war and the fact that she has recreated herself as a centrist.

4) Women hold each other to an unrealistic standard.

5) She's trying to act too much like a man.

"What you may be hearing is the commitment to pacifism that some women associate with feminism," said Wendy Kaminer, a 57-year-old author and lawyer. "It's what I think of as the 'feminine' strain of feminism that sees women as bringing something to the table because they are not militaristic, work by consensus and don't play the boys' game. And Hillary is someone who has played the boys' game exceedingly well."

Jane Fonda perhaps summed up this view best in an interview with the LA Weekly last May, in which she called Clinton "a ventriloquist for the patriarchy with a skirt and a vagina." (It would be such a great quote, except when was the last time Hillary wore a skirt?)

The Times says Clinton has been working to overcome this skepticism from her sisters by appearing on "The View" and telling a Chicago audience that "I'm your girl."

Why this should endear her to feminist peers, I'm not quite sure, but something seems to be working. Support for Clinton among college-educated women jumped from 29 percent in June to 50 percent in October, according to the latest LA Times/Bloomberg poll.

Question: Why Do Liberal Women Dislike Hillary Clinton?

Because she is totally GROSS.

That's pretty funny coming from Hanoi Jane. Who has twisted herself in knots to please the men in her life more than Fonda? As her own daughter so astutely noted:

"When Fonda asked her daughter to film a short movie about her life, her daughter replied, "why don't you just put a chameleon on the lens and let it walk around."

I'm not sure why, but that line infuriates me on so many levels -- it just goes way beyond electoral politics and whether the Hildabeast deserves anyone's vote.

\rant on

The time to question whether America should have invaded Iraq ENDED ON MARCH 19TH, 2003. Any politician (or any American, for that matter) who actively works to undermine our efforts while our troops are in harm's way is a TRAITOR, and should placed under arrest. End of story.

\rant off

Actually, I think most Americans feel that way: witness the fact that the 'Rats are quietly caving yet again on their repeated attempts to sabotage the war effort by tying funding to artificial withdrawal timetables.

Does Hanoi Jane have the capability to ever utter a sentence without including the word “vagina”?

” We had a lady in the office like that, except she took these quick little bitty steps.”

Just blew tea out on the monitor/keyboard.

Absolutely. As a matter of fact I am sure it goes BEYOND the fact that she didn’t divorce Bubba - she ENABLED him. It shows a total lack of respect for herself that she would stay in a relationship that lacks basic integrity. Also - the point is that everything she does lacks basic integrity.

Why isn’t Jane Fonda spending life in Leavenworth?

It’s “enhanced”, but ever so slightly....it might be the work of former FReeper ‘Registered’.

No, the real reason is that they know her well enough not to trust her,...and she has no sex appeal. The Democrats did the last part to themselves, made everything about sex, or at least sex appeal, when they blasted Dole as old and boring, and the largest attribute of Clinton’s was his relative youth and “charisma”. Charisma for the MSM is just sex appeal.

I think #3 hits closest to the mark. She was supposed to be ‘one of them’, but her vote in favor of the war and her movement away from cherished radical feminist positions (at least publicly) have infuriated them.

I was wondering about that, too. How does a woman live her whole life and end up so cold and vulgar?

Maybe it’s because those women are pertetually in competition with each other and don’t really like to see one of their own succeed.

ah “the patriarchy”...

Hitler blamed the Jews. Sharpton & Jackson blame Whitey.

Feminists blame men.
