“LOL, it was a yawner, heard no questions I did not hear before, nor answers that I havent heard for years.”
What I heard that I thought was the story of the night, is that Romney’s goal is for Gays and Lesbians to serve openly in the military.
OK look Cooper is gay and everyone know it OK.
Did anyone c ount the number of time Rudy said “New York City” tonight? Must have been a hundred or more...
Posters of illegal alien threads were almost banned here a few years ago. I doubted how long I could stay. It is only the last couple of years where it has gained nation prominence. Anything before that is just a weak political jab. Sorry, but this is my main issue on FR. You are a jonnie come lately, looking to jab a potential presidential candidate.
You know, flaglady47, you and I are very often eye-to-eye on issues, but I have to part from you here. Pointing out why Gov. Romney might have had a hard time with that question is not "bashing"...it's a real look at his character, beliefs, etc. And I thought it showed that he did think about his answers, even if they were misleading.
I believe that Gov. Romney's Mormonism is very relevant, as I believe that it provides insight into his thought process, priorities, etc.
As an example, many Mormons are not aware of much of what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints holds as true. And the LDS church certainly does not let on to outsiders its true beliefs (and admits such, with a sort of "You Can't Handle the Truth!" reference to 1 Cor 3:2). So that shows to me a man who is comfortable with deception. Such a trait might be good when dealing with enemies, and do we really expect an honest president? On the other hand, some of us would kinda like to hope we could get one.
Or on the idea that later revelations can come along and trump earlier proclamations. For example, Brigham Young stated that if blacks were ever admitted to the priesthood before the Resurrection, the Church would be cursed. So with blacks now being allowed in, are they cursed? Is it kosher to go back and change what has been previously said?
So Gov. Rommey's acceptance of the many contradictions of Mormonism gives insight into how we must understand the meaning behind the words of his answers.
If there never was a prophet, or apostle of Jesus Christ spoke it before, I tell you, this people that are commonly called negroes are the children of old Cain ... they cannot bear rule in the priesthood, for the curse on them was to remain upon them, until the resedue of the posterity of Michal and his wife receive the blessings.... until the times of the restitution shall come [...]
suppose we summon them to appear here, and here declare that it is right to mingle our seed, with the black race of Cain, that they shall come in with with us and be pertakers with us of all the blessings God has given to us. On that very day, and hour we should do so, the priesthood is taken from this Church and kingdom and God leaves us to our fate. The moment we consent to mingle with the seed of Cain the Church must go to destruction,we should receive the curse which has been placed upon the seed of Cain, and never more be numbered with the children of Adam who are heirs to the priesthood until that curse be removed. --Brigham Young, 1852
Not to worry. No way the American people would vote an Evangelical minister to POTUS. Any Democrat would win over Huckaby.
We do, and for those posts as well as those preaching to us about how Christians are bad, and gays are good, we should have an ignore button, like they used to in chat rooms. That way we don’t feed them. ;)
We need to talk, I lived in San Diego County for year’s, I had a pool service guy and I had a garbage pickup guy I never asked any of them if they were illegal. It never came to my mind to do that.
Want more?
No, because you make great generalizations and extend them to all being Romney’s fault. Mitt is not a socialist as any thinking person knows, and it was one judge that let the murderer go, and Romney instantly denounced her. George Bush Sr. put Suter on the Supreme Court who turned out to be a big lib, Reagan put Sandra Day O’Connor on who turned out to be a lemon, you never know with judges how the worm can turn. And of course, the reason teachers assault children in schools is all Mitt’s fault, right. You just can’t stand Romney, probably because he’s a Mormon if you are like so many other Freepers who hate his religion. So, each to their own. May the best man win the presidency.
“Born again comes from the mouth of Jesus Himself. Born-again Christians didnt make that up. Jesus told Nicodemus that in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, he had to be born again. When Nicodemus said, Say what? How can one be born again? Jesus explained that you are born again of water and of spirit.
Once Christ becomes your Savior, and the Holy Spirit takes over, you are a new creation in Christborn again.
Christ said it. We believe it.”
That’s your interpretation. The Holy Spirit took over when I was baptized a Catholic. That’s when I was ‘born’. The voters for Mike Huckabee are one-issue voters. I’m pro-life, however, I don’t want or need a former Baptist preacher shoving religion down my throat in the name of politics and presidential ambition. The whole idea is frightening.
Romney is the one the media is worried about friend....that is why they have been feeding us Rudy forever, and articles about how people won’t vote for Mormons. They know they can beat Rudy. I’m amazed that people haven’t figured that out around here.
You also forget that many do not follow politics like Freepers and they will vote for the "best looking" candidate or have you forgotten Clinton already. How about the Kennedy/Nixon debate. Those who listened on the radio thought Nixon won. Those who watched TV thought Kennedy won. Poke fun if you want but Hunter is dead and just not fallen over yet. He comes off as a weird uncle on TV.
It is a TV world and if TV doesn't like you you are toast.
Question.
Since I missed the live debate... How many of the youtube questioners did they have there live (besides the general)?
That Bible guy was a plant, I have to look around.
Just saw clips so far, I have to see the whole thing in context.
Saw Ron Paul signs along the Skyway Bridge today. The nitwits stopped in the median of the freeway to plant those signs.
Makes Mitt seem more like a Mason, ruling the world and all and responsible for everything! /sarcasm
Mitt is the one!
A. Cooper is lying through his teeth. He knew General Homosexual was an activist and invited him in the audience to lecture the Homophobic Republicans.
After just being caught with plants in the last debate, they don’t ask the most basic questions?? Doesn’t even pass the Laugh Test.
Pray for W and Our Victorious Troops
“Most FReepers now realize that when a RomneyBOT attacks the poster,
it is a tacit admission that the poster was correct about Romney lying, screwing the public, foisting his fake troopers, etc. etc. etc.”
LOL! What are you smoking?
Heads up on General/Gay Military Debate Question.

I’ll concede you that. However, I think the reason Rudy is so well liked by the MSM is they simply identify with him.
