FREEPER CANTEEN HOLIDAY SPECIAL It's Thanksgiving. In honor of that, let's all share some of the things you are thankful for. Are you thankful for family and friends? It's Thanksgiving....do you know where your turkey is? Let's try not to eat so much that we fall asleep and miss the football games.
Then there are those shoppers out there who brave the mad rush of Black Friday. Are you one of them? But, rest assured that when you've had enough and you just need to relax, the Canteen is here. When your feet are dragging and you're ready to drop, you can drop into the Canteen, grab something to drink, and turn up the jukebox. If you don't see anything on the jukebox that soothes you, you can make a request to one of the DJs. Come and let us give thanks for all that's good. And, don't forget to thank those to whom we owe so much! BURP! I'm done.
Stay safe. Come back soon. Prayers for safekeeping of our military.

Thanks! Even if it isn’t Thanksgiving here (I’m up in Canada - we had it earlier although I personally think it should be today here as well).
Yeah, parking could be an issue unless you don’t mind a long walk (or if public transit is available). There is a reason I don’t usually shop on ultra-hectic days (tomorrow never has been one here, but retailers next year may have to retaliate as thousands of Canadians are crossing the border tomorrow for the deals). There will be more days like Black Friday in the weeks ahead for sure...

I just park when I see the first space, no matter where. I don’t mind walking but I don’t like to be late for work because I wanted the best space! LOL!
Hey, greetings to Canada...glad you could be with us! I am sure you have your equivilent of Black Friday. Perfect name, huh?

Yeah, the closest equivalent is the day after Christmas - December 26, called Boxing Day per the British tradition to give boxes to people that day (since it is a holiday for most people), and retailers have turned it into a time to mark down all their excess Christmas stock at bonanza prices. (In some areas where such is a full holiday and stores have to stay closed that day, it takes place December 27.)

Not much snow here...there was about an inch last night but most of it melted with the sun. It is fairly cold though (only in the low 20s here).
To: Heartofsong83
Lordy...I hope that one never catches on down here. We have enough shopping to do! LOL!
But I am sure it’s a great and fun holiday for you all!

That makes a pretty sight, huh?
If the flakes are that big, they won’t last long!
I love the way the snow coats the branches..
