A Capitol Police officer has been suspended in connection with the series of restroom fires that broke out in Senate office buildings over the past three months.
Several law enforcement sources who wished to remain anonymous confirmed on Monday that Officer Karen Emory recently has been suspended in connection with the fires, although details about her involvement, including whether she is a suspect in the case, are not known.
Capitol Police spokeswoman Sgt. Kimberly Schneider refused to comment on the suspension, other than to say that no charges have been filed. We dont discuss personnel issues, she said. When there is an ongoing investigation I dont speak about the details in any fashion.
The fires broke out in womens restrooms in the Dirksen and Hart Senate office buildings. All were quickly extinguished by Capitol Police, and no injuries were reported.
Emory is listed as the reporting officer on at least one of the incident reports filed related to the fires.

Was it the one who let Mckinney use him for a punching bag? Or one of the ones who gave the drunk Kennedy kid (not to be confused with the heroin addicted Kennedy kid, or the drunk Kennedy old timer)a free ride home and a get out of jail free card?
Probably putting her cigarettes out in the trash.
Most likely some minority hire.
The can’t pay that person enough to work - they just want to be paid to not to show up - hey Jessie and Al get money for staying away - why not this ossifer.
Starting fires is about anger -- the deep, smoldering rage kind of anger. Boys (or men) who start fires do it in a big way like with warehouses, fields, forests, etc. But with girls, it is often a private, small scale affair. The bathroom offers privacy in a public place.
I am not saying that is what is going on with this officer, but smokers don't put live butts in the trash can, especially when they are in a bathroom. There are toilets and sinks that give plenty of ways to put out a smoke. I am betting this series of fires is either the result of the twisted rage thing or of the officer's desire to be heroic during her boring workday.
