The chief villains in his account are secretaries of state Rice and Colin Powell.
During Bush's first term, when Powell was in charge, the drive to contain Iran's nuclear ambitions lost critical ground.
Rather than seek to lead our European allies into a coalition that would impose serious sanctions on that Islamic republic, Powell left "the driving to the European Union." That meant years - when Teheran's program was still far from success - were wasted.
This convinced the Iranians that nothing would or could stop them.

Even though the threat of an Iran with the nuclear wherewithal to make good on its call for Israel's eradication became even more clear during the watch of Powell's successor, Rice continued on his feckless path.
Again, the Euros were allowed to take the lead, which led to delays and more ineffective measures, the implications of which left Bolton "sick."

John Bolton was not this decisive and thoughtful when he was in Troop 35 in Baltimore, Md., at the age of 12. But then, neither was I. LOL.

The more I read about him, the higher my respect for the ability and dedication of this American. I would hope the next President brings this man back into the national administration.

In a perfect universe, President Duncan Hunter would announce that the only nominee he will send to the Senate for confirmation as Secretary of State is John Bolton.

Secretary of State John Bolton. I don’t know who would be shaking in their boots more, our enemies, or the entrenched anti-American bureaucracy at the State Department.

The best way to reform the State Department is to dismantle it. Funny how Ron Paul never suggests that, eh? LOL

I would love to see President Duncan Hunter select Bolton as Secretary of State.

Bingo! My dream for 2008 would be Duncan Hunter as President, John Bolton as Secretary of State, Tom Tancredo as Secretary for Homeland Security, Sheriff Joe Arpaio as head of ICE, and David Horowitz or Daniel Pipes as Ambassador to Israe.

Newt Gingrich's line, of course he'd rebuild it.

‘That won him new allies among Democrats when the administration attempted again to have the Senate ratify his appointment. But in the fall of 2006, with the Democrats retaking control of Congress, and with renegade liberal Republicans such as Sen. Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island opposing him specifically because of his pro-Israel stands, Bolton was again turned away. ‘

Given the glaring error found above, there is no reason to accept anything else the author concludes.

John Bolton was blocked by Georgie Girl “Cry me a river’ Voinovich, lightweight Chafee just followed along.

Those two RINOs Voinovich and Chaffee were disgusting in their conduct regarding Bolton.

If our President (who is the titular head of the Republican Party as Chief Executive) had been a bit less ‘change the tone’ and a bit more assertive, he would have informed both Voinovich and Chaffee that if they persisted in their opposition to Bolton, that he would direct the Chairman of the RNC to strip them of that (R) after their names, expel them from the GOP, and inform their constituents that they just gained a new ‘independent’ Senator. To those who would say that would have sacrificed the GOP majority, that’s a moot point now since that majority got squandered, and the Republicans reaped that bitter harvest in November 2006.

That little f*ggot Chaffee needs to have a can of whoopazz opened on him, just on general principle if nothing else, and Cryin’ George needs to just go away and STFU.

Actually, Voinovich came around and announced his support, but by then Bolton decided to walk away.

‘Actually, Voinovich came around and announced his support, but by then Bolton decided to walk away.’

‘Actually’ Georgie Girl was forced to admit Bolton did a ‘passable job’, and looked as if a small dog turd was directly under his nose when he said it.

He wouldn’t have gotten a vote, so Georgie Girl could say whatever he wanted at that point. He’s a perfect example of why Ohio is now controlled by Democrats.

"...The alternative is a "surrender" to forces that we must vanquish if we are to preserve our civilization.
Rather than change it, Rice has been absorbed by the State Department and the administration's critics. The result is a an America left with a grim choice that as Bolton says "is not between the world as it is today and the use of force. The choice is between the use of force and Iran with nuclear weapons."..."

I keep wondering what we're waiting for? It's obvious to everybody that the USA and our Allies have to drop the hammer on Iran, Syria, and Hizbollah.

From a political standpoint, the dims are firmly stuck-on-stupid with their out-of-control anti-war zealots, so now would be an ideal time to fix them there in the eyes of the voters.

I have no doubt that most Americans would cheer for a good deal of destruction upon the remainder of the vermin who caused 9/11 to happen. And most people understand the dangers of Nuclear Weapons in the hands of a madman like Ahmanutjob. Not even CNN can rationalize away his stated intention to destroy the Great Satan, the USA.

It may be my own 'Patton' attitude, but it seems time, now, to 'Cry Havoc, and let loose the dogs of war' ..................................... FRegards
