11/09/2007 Kerry Spokesman Sets Limbaugh Straight on Swiftboat Smears
WASHINGTON D.C. Kerry spokesman David Wade issued the following statement today in response to Rush Limbaugh, who said on his radio show that Kerrys Swift Boat attackers in 2004, were right on the money and nobody has disproven anything they claimed in any of their ads, statements, written commentaries, or anything of the sort.
At first I thought, thats not Rush, thats just the OxyContin talking. Nonetheless, this is a despicable but unsurprising new lie from a man whose closest brush with combat came when customs officials tried to take away his Viagra. This portly peddler of hate is once again wrong on the facts. John Kerry served his country with honor in Vietnam, and has fought for his fellow veterans ever since. The lies and smears of the Swift Boat Veterans for Bush were disproved conclusively in 2004 by the men who fought by John Kerrys side in Vietnam, by the militarys own records, by investigative journalists, and by the incredible contradictions that exposed these right wing smear artists. It is long past time that we end the politics of fear and smear that we have seen used against decorated veterans from John McCain to Max Cleland and John Kerry. Rush Limbaughs ignorance and determination to divide Americans is just another reminder that you cant spell Rush Limbaugh without the letters L-I-A-R.
The watchdog group Media Matters has provided an excellent fact check of the Limbaugh smear, proving once again that when it comes to slandering veterans, the right wing is wrong. The fact check can be found at: (http://mediamatters.org/items/200711090008?f=h_latest)

I agree with you 100%. I have believed that Kerry received bad paper since before Jimmie Carter pardoned the traitors and draft dodgers.

"The pig that squeals is the one you hit." There's a saying that dates back to the medieval era which translates loosely as, "The empty goblet clatters the loudest."
In deference to Kerry's lovely wife, perhaps that should be updated to, "The empty gin bottle."

Well, JFK is facing some quasi-serious opposition in his Senatorial Race in 2008, so I reckon we'll just have to live through this whole "Swift-Boat" nonsense all over again. JF'nK wrote himself up, so he has to stick with it.
Unlike the original JFK who had the good sense to realize that his heroics were also more or less a Hollywood PR Man's fantasy, bought and paid for by dear old dad, JF'nK, being poor at the time, did his military fiction without too much professional help.
Apparently, in the faux-hero racket, you get what you pay for. Besides Dad paying for the best story tellers around, the original JFK had a sense of humor about the whole thing, which JF'nK definitely does not!

OK, Johnny Cakes....Sign and SUBMIT form 180 to the DoD and we can see exactly what your record says. I believe that it will show that you were less than honorably discharged from the Navy (due to your slanderous congressional testimony and your anti-war activities while in uniform) and that your discharge was later upgraded by Jimmy Carter to at least a general discharge. I doubt very seriously if you were given a honorable discharge but stranger things have happened.

It really grates on me that Slick Willie refused to release his medical records and Untruthful John refused to sign a SF 180 to release his military records and the media gave (and still gives) them a pass. However, President Bush released all of his medical and military records and the media (CBS) published and trumpeted the phony TANG letters and tried to convince the public that they were authentic.

At first I thought, thats not Rush, thats just the OxyContin talking.
As we recall, slander isn't something new for Kerry and Company.
If Wade has any proof of Rush using OxyContin today, he should provide it to the appropriate authorities. If he is an attorney, he is an officer of the court. He would be duty bound to produce that information to the authorities if he truly had it.
Nonetheless, this is a despicable but unsurprising new lie from a man whose closest brush with combat came when customs officials tried to take away his Viagra.
This is Democrap 101. If it's a woman Bill Clinton raped and or beat, you call her a tramp and an untrustworthy individual. If Rush says something you don't like, you bring up drugs and try to label him an untrustworthy commentator. The only problem is, Rush has been right almost all the time. The Democraps are wrong almost all the time. Who is trustworthy here? As if it were open to debate.
This portly peddler of hate is once again wrong on the facts.
No Wade, you're wrong on the facts. Let's see, you've tapped the old OxyContin label, you've tapped the old Viagra label and now you're moving on to Rush's weight. These are very powerful facts as it applies to Kerry's record. So far you haven't mentioned the real issue here once. Very impressive.
John Kerry served his country with honor in Vietnam...
This isn't even open to debate any longer. You're flat out ignorant on this topic Wade.
...and has fought for his fellow veterans ever since.
Kerry didn't serve honorably. He didn't fight for his fellow veterans at all, ever. Immediately upon return he joined the anti-War traitors who spit on our veterans. He sided with the same people who went to Hanoi to further the cause of Ho Chi Mhin. He sat within feet of Jane Fonda. They were fellow travelers. Kerry testified in Congress concerning troops in Vietnam and implied if not outright stated that all troops serving there were raping women, killing children and using drugs. If this is "fighting for his fellow veterans" I'd like to know what would be considered betraying them.
The lies and smears of the Swift Boat Veterans for Bush were disproved conclusively in 2004 by the men who fought by John Kerrys side in Vietnam, by the militarys own records, by investigative journalists, and by the incredible contradictions that exposed these right wing smear artists.
The Swift Boat Veterans were not for Bush. They were against Kerry. The inclusion of the Bush name here was to instill prejudice. The Swift Boat Veterans we not trying to take Kerry down so Bush would win. They were trying to make sure a bottom feeding gutter snipe like Kerry would never serve as Commander in Chief. Thank God they did.
Kerry's record is on the record thanks to the Swift Boat Vets. It should be noted that people who served with Kerry and knew him in Vietnam were interviewed by the Swift Boat Vets. They reveal a clear record of Kerry being an unAmerican prick from day one. His service record was contrived. His testimoney against troops in Vietnam was contrived. His undercutting of the military his whole life is the only thing that isn't contrived.
It is long past time that we end the politics of fear and smear that we have seen used against decorated veterans from John McCain to Max Cleland and John Kerry.
People are addressed for the actions they have taken. John McCain, Max Cleland and John Kerry are responsible for their actions. When any of them do something, that something stands on it's own merits. John Kerry is damned for things he actually did, and things he actually didn't do. That's generally the rule any of us are measured by.
Rush Limbaughs ignorance and determination to divide Americans is just another reminder that you cant spell Rush Limbaugh without the letters L-I-A-R.
By your standard, you couldn't touch Rush Limbaugh if he was a decorated veteran. We don't agree with that. If he were a decorated veteran and did something wrong, he would be fair game. Today he is held to the same standard that John Kerry is by the right. Each stand on their own merits. Rush will be judged for his actions and John will be judged by his. Rush has owned up to his shortcomings. John has not.
Here you call Rush a liar. Well, John Kerry's actions are on the record, from his war service to the present time. It is a shameful record that instills disgust by those who love our military members. You are the one who is lying Mr. Wade. The Swift Boat Vets got it dead on the bulls-eye.
You are another smear and fear slanderer. You are the lowest form of human being. You damn those who are right and defend those who are sick cancers on the body politic.
John Kerry is a political calamity. His chances at being President are over. And your chances of being taken credibly again are nil.

Obviously, I never read their book, although I did contribute. Thanks for the info. Just like the MSM to hide the big issues, isnt it?Yes it is. I do remember the media only discussing part I (Kerry's time in Vietnam and the medal controversy) of the "Unfit for Command" book, but I can't remember them ever mentioning the stuff from part II, other than Hanoi John's 1971 Senate Testimony.
I've still got my copy of the book. I believe part II was/is far more damaging to Kerry and if it was fully and honestly reported on (or even better exploited by the Swiftboatvets), Kerry's campaign would have been sunk then and there.
Here is how the table of contents for part II of Unfit for Command reads:
Part II: Antiwar Protester
Six: A Testimony of Lies..........99
Seven: Meeting with the Enemy.....123
Eight: Kerry's Antiwar Secrets....139
Nine: Kerry's Communist Honors...167
Ten: Unfit for Command.........175
You can see that the Swiftboatvets gave plenty of coverage in their book to Kerry's trip to Paris and his other anti-war and treasonous activities after he returned home from Vietnam, but the media refused to discuss this.

How can somebody be ‘set straight’ by a guy who is so crooked that his profession is either described as ‘politician’ or ‘gold digger/gigolo’ (strike that, gigolos at least work for their money).
And Kerry is using Media Matters on this US taxpayer funded official website? Hmmm. I guess its going to be hard to claim that Media Matters is non-partisan or independent again.
Kerry still believes that he has a reputation to restore. He doesn’t seem to notice that nobody gives a sh$t about him anymore. He doesn’t seem to notice that nobody comes to his defense anymore or even mention his name in public. He sounds like a good candidate for:

As far as I'm concerned Effing Kerry served honorably in Vietnam. None of this would have been relevant if he hadn't tried to make his claim to be a war hero the cornerstone of his campaign.
The man really isn't very smart.
