After reading your post I have to agree that the Ron Paul phenomenon is providing a good lesson on how to build a grassroots campaign.

Yep, and look how well it worked out for Howie Dean (who, by the way, is a paragon of sound mental health compared to Paul).

Give them some credit, a lot of them were selfless enough to forgo a dime bag of pot to support the nutcase.

Good point. Especially since they support the legalization of drugs. Yes. This is truly a selfish act by these teenagers and should be duly noted. lol.

Oh well, I'll back you up on most of those, though I don't shave my legs or wear a bra.

Hairy-legged and unfettered womenfolk are welcome to support Ron Paul too.

“geographic bigotry?”

Okay, that says all I need to know my friend. Never heard that one before. Just when I though bigotry couldn’t possibly be defined any broader....LOL

Of course they will be telling the moms that they have a school project and need more poster board and magic markers to make campaign signs.

Libertarians have always had their own constituency. Look at the consistent popularity of Ayn Rand’s work. It can’t just be a Democratic subterfuge campaign.

I’m not necessarily a Paul supporter, but I’m often surprised at the opposition to him on this site.

Aren’t the other GOP candidates jokers themselves?

Do you understand how powerful the IT department guys from Dean’s campaign, are now in the Democrat party?

David Weinberger and Joe Trippi are making it work, just for saner and wealthier and better paying Democrat and special interest campaigns.

Are you suggesting that RP is the pro-war candidate now?

I didn’t get that out of any of his public statements or campaign positions???

Neither did any of the leftists over at Code Pink or MoveOn who are supporting him because Hillary is stronger on the war on terror than Paul....

They will be shocked to hear this newsflash! LOL

All very true. The question is who will the Paul IT guys be working for in a few years?

Don’t know...

I wonder how many of the same techies who supported Howard Dean in 2004 on a similar platform, using very similar internet tactics, are working for the RP campaign today?

You posted a Robinson post on 133 in an attempt to justify simple support of a candidate in the primaries. Nobody has a problem with simple legitimate support for any candidate in the primaries. It’s the illegitimate support at issue here...

I won’t support a liberal either and I never said you would. This entire discussion is not about conservatives supporting liberals. It’s about liberals supporting RP.

What’s your problem, besides reading and comprehension skills?

No, but nice try.

Your reply just points out the goofiness of your posting style. Someone shows you the simple solution to the problem you've been whining about for hours and you resort to trying to change the subject. Hoisted up by your own petard (words).

Take your own advice....

"Follow the facts first, then comment, Don’t kid yourself in such a childish manner, Have you had your eyes checked lately, mindless minion"?

Oh BTW, Did you "Learn that at your DU meeting, card carrying idiot"?

“They finally quit calling me for donations.”

Me too...

First, I agree with all Republicans more the any Democrat. However, like many Republicans, I am sick and tired of the lesser evil and would very much like to return the RNC to conservative principles and values.

I don’t see RP as conservative at all, just libertarian and isolationist in the style of a Pat Buchanan.

Of course, I don’t see Rudy McRomney as conservative either, or at least conservative enough.

That leaves only a few options. Thompson, Hunter, Tancredo, who else?

Of those remaining, Thompson has the best chance of winning IMO. I agree with his positions some 90+ %, as I do Hunter and Tancredo, which is as much as I have ever agreed with any national candidate. I didn’t agree with Reagan any more than that. I don’t agree with Huckabee any more than I do Rudy McRomney.

I voted for Bush twice agreeing only about 60%. Of course, like most conservatives who knew in advance what “compassionate conservative” meant, I actually voted against Gore and Kerry.

So if I had to vote today, I’d have to vote for Thompson. But I sure hope to see him do more to deserve that vote in the near future.
