“They finally quit calling me for donations.”
Me too...
First, I agree with all Republicans more the any Democrat. However, like many Republicans, I am sick and tired of the lesser evil and would very much like to return the RNC to conservative principles and values.
I don’t see RP as conservative at all, just libertarian and isolationist in the style of a Pat Buchanan.
Of course, I don’t see Rudy McRomney as conservative either, or at least conservative enough.
That leaves only a few options. Thompson, Hunter, Tancredo, who else?
Of those remaining, Thompson has the best chance of winning IMO. I agree with his positions some 90+ %, as I do Hunter and Tancredo, which is as much as I have ever agreed with any national candidate. I didn’t agree with Reagan any more than that. I don’t agree with Huckabee any more than I do Rudy McRomney.
I voted for Bush twice agreeing only about 60%. Of course, like most conservatives who knew in advance what “compassionate conservative” meant, I actually voted against Gore and Kerry.
So if I had to vote today, I’d have to vote for Thompson. But I sure hope to see him do more to deserve that vote in the near future.
>I dont see RP as conservative at all, just libertarian and isolationist in the style of a Pat Buchanan.<
I disagree because Liberals don’t put their life’s work into getting the UN America out of the UN.
Hunter and Tancredo are the other two that I really like. Tancredo for whatever reason isn’t getting the backing I expected he would, the same with Hunter which is a real shame. Thompson doesn’t really impress me but he doesn’t offend me too much either. I guess I just don’t really trust him.
I am angry that I voted for Bush the 2nd time. I knew better but did it anyway.
