I hate wasting this much press time on Ron Paul. But the Paul campaign is becoming a real threat to the Republican primary process and if allowed to continue, he will take votes away from the most conservative Republican candidates in the party, not the most liberal. This is bad for the party and the country.
(snip)
So, how Republican is Republican candidate Ron Paul?
If hes funded largely by anti-war leftists, from Democrat stronghold districts and counting on Democrats, Libertarians and members of the Green Party to win the Republican nomination, not very

The zip code in Chicago is a fairly affluent area (Roger Ebert lives there) and they are probably not tech jobs.
Your assertions are proving to be correct. Good Job.

Damn those facts!
I am not a RP supporter in any serious sense.

You want to define conservatism? DUNCAN HUNTER.
Do you want to stop all this nitpicking and unite behind the one man who has all of the qualifications with none of the assorted baggage? DUNCAN HUNTER.
Why are people, even here on FR, so @@$@@$^%& STUPID?
“You can disagree with the rationale behind the Iraq War without being a nut.”
Yeah, but you can’t run and hide from the war on terror with being a card carrying idiot...
This time, FR polls are tracking with all national trends...
Okay, that’s fair... sorry for being so short sighted! LOL

Giuliani is doing exactly the same thing!
Romney is also a liberal!
Is this what the Republican party has come to -- big-government, anti-defense, anti-gun, anti-border control, neo-socialists!
I'd almost prefer a Scoop Jackson!
This time, FR polls are tracking with all national trends...
“I support Paul’s stance on freedom from government excess.”
So do I and so do most Republicans including most Republican candidates.
“I support his candidacy (his right to run, that is) because he exposes promises the big R party has failed to deliver on.”
You mean you were not aware of this before Ron Paul?
“Also, there was a time when Republicans could disagree on foreign policy and nation-building.”
We still disagree with nation building. We just don’t agree that what we are doing in Iraq is nation building.
“Finally, I hope that voters will find and promote federalist/small FedGov candidates for Congressional and Senate seats, not just fawn at the feet of the favorite son picked by the party machine.”
Again, we agree. But Ron Paul ain’t the guy.
Then how is he going to take votes away from the most conservative candidates? The new stupid people who are registering as Republicans would otherwise be voting for conservatives?
That's just a rhetorical question, I don't think I'm really expecting an answer. The premise of the article just didn't make sense to me.
"Paulestinians are facts."
;)
No, it will be civil war around here, because if he were to win the RNC nomination, it would be with leftist money and votes...
Kent, I see that you hailed the anti Paul crowd. What makes me laugh about you people is that all of you act as if Ron Paul sitting in the White House will have the powers of a king.
