"If Ron Paul can win the Republican nomination with support from Republicans, why is his campaign taking money from leftist organizations and promoting party swapping to help him out in primaries that currently show him below 45 support among Republicans?"

I never said that he could win the nomination solely with support from Republicans, in fact, it would be a big surprise to me if he did win the nomination. I am not even a Ron Paul supporter, but I do admire the energy of the grass roots movement that has sprung up to support him. This is something that I have been researching myself to see if the claim that it is all a left wing front is true. While he does attract support from the left, I find this charge to be inaccurate.

My interest in the Ron Paul movement is the long term building of a grass roots movement in support of liberty ala Barry Goldwater. I do not support his candidacy in this election cycle because of his naivety on the threat of Jihadism. I am, however, interested in what will become of the grass roots movement that he has inspired once the elections are over. Is Ron Paul our Barry Goldwater?

After reading your post I have to agree that the Ron Paul phenomenon is providing a good lesson on how to build a grassroots campaign.

I can agree with this... I just can’t agree with his tactics.
