SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The American Automobile Association of California said some drivers are now paying up to $5 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.
Crude oil prices hit an all-time high Wednesday, above $98 a barrel and analysts said with worldwide oil demand rising -- it is still not clear just how high prices will go.
In Salinas, AAA recorded an average of $3.39 per gallon. Santa Cruz is at an average of $3.37 per gallon.
KSBW checked and found gas in Gorda, south of Big Sur, is even higher. Drivers there are paying $5 for gas.
Over the past two weeks gas has gone up 15 cents in California alone, according to AAA.
Serves the people of California right for electing socialists.
‘Most of this is the fault of the California Assembly and their weird laws, forcing the oil companies to manufacture different types of gasoline just for California.’
Yep.
(disclaimer. I dont live in California....)
Nothing a few new refineries wouldn’t solve.
Ah yes, the wonderful Golden State. I’m so glad we moved our family out of there five years ago. My wife and I were born in San Diego and it was a great place to grow up in the 50s and 60s. But as I said we left five years ago, we’ve never been back, and have no plans to go back.
So, California’s idiot lawmakers are making laws, that affect gas prices in MY state?
(disclaimer: I don’t live in California)
Be careful with your wide brush......
So, Californias idiot lawmakers are making laws, that affect gas prices in MY state?
(disclaimer: I dont live in California)
Yep.
(disclaimer; I don’t live in California either)
Somebody elected them: I didn’t say everyone approved, but a majority of voters obviously did.
Agreed. You get what you vote for!
I would like to see Californians pay about $50.00 a gallon.

Did everybody applaud?
A better way of classifying the voters would be "the Entertainment Industry and Government Unions in California got what they paid for".

Bingo.
No applause but I smiled big enough to cover FR with happiness lol
‘I dont live in Calif., our gas prices are going up also. Most people are silently waiting for the economy to collapse soon, so there is no real reaction. Upstate economy is so depressed already that it were not for high fuel prices we probably wouldn’t notice anyway.’
Where do you live? I’m in Ohio, we’ve seen a increase, but not to bad so far. Paying 3.06 for the low grade gasoline today.
