A British family was rescued from a sinking ship in South Africa by a real-life Baywatch babe when a teenage model turned into a Pamela Anderson-style lifesaver.
Professional surfer-turned-model Roxy Louw spotted the family's sinking charter boat from her private balcony overlooking the upmarket Clifton Beach in Cape Town, South Africa. She phoned the coastguard - then donned her wetsuit and ran towards the beach.

Lifesaver: Roxy Louw - the real life Baywatch babe
The 19-year-old, who was voted sixth place in FHM magazine's 100 Sexiest Women in the World table last year, dived into the water with a buoy handed to her on the white sandy shore and swam towards the boat.
On the stricken craft were Welsh couple Gareth and Jane Evans and their 11-year-old son Josh, husband and wife Justin and Cara Watt from Pretoria, and three crew members.
The five passengers had been taken on a trip round Robben Island on the boat when, according to reports, kelp got stuck in the boat's turbines bringing it to a halt. Water then poured into the V-Craft Jet boat, causing it to sink.
Lifeboats, police helicopter, ambulance, fire fighters and beach rescue service joined in the rescue off Clifton, which is one of Cape Town's most exclusive resorts where properties can cost millions of pounds.
It faces the Atlantic Ocean and the shoreline has numerous signs warning bathers about sharks.

Roxy Louw: The surfer turned model came to the rescue
Miss Louw said: "I stood on the balcony of my little flat on the beach, and saw a boat sinking and people in the water.
"I phoned the NSRI (RNLI equivalent), ran to my room, put on my wetsuit and ran to the water. I didn't even have time to grab my surfboard.
"Although I'm not a lifesaver, I know the ocean and I'm quite a strong swimmer, because of my surfing.
"Your adrenaline, your instinct takes over. I got smashed against a rock, but my mind just repeated: 'Save the people. Save the people',."
Miss Louw was joined in the rescue by two lifesavers who had been off duty but preparing to go for a swim. One of them, Shane Fascio, who is also a paramedic, said two of the crew were struggling below the surf line and had to be pulled ashore. All the passengers wore lifebelts making their rescue easier, said Fascio. Ms Watt said although they'd lost possessions on board the craft, they were very grateful to be alive. "The boat started to sink and we had to swim. The rescue service people were fantastic. The surfer also helped us to swim to the beach."
After the rescue Mrs Evans said: "It's our last days here, but at least the dinner table conversation's going to be very interesting.
"Josh didn't say much, but he was very pleased that he had a lifejacket. He was brilliant."
She added: "I'm glad to be alive, even if I lost a shoe in the process."
Roxy Louw is a regular feature in South African gossip columns. She is the daughter of former Springbok rugby player Rob Louw and was an accomplished hockey player before she took up surfing. She has modelled for Oakley sunglasses.
The Waterfront Boat Company which runs the cruises off the Cape Town coast said the Evans, who live in Cardiff, were flying home after yesterday's drama. Yesterday Ms Louw and Mrs Watt were reunited on the beach where the Pretoria woman expressed her gratitude.
She's got the bust though (or lack of)...
(the video may take a few moments to load)
LMAO!
After viewing the video at #22 I am moved to suggest that in reality she is ‘a bit’ more buxom than the above photos might suggest.
If this is a recent development, hopefully it won’t interfere with her surfing, considering the attention to balance that must be paid.....
Without question, the most beautiful and charming African I’ve ever seen!
I agree, she is quite a stunning standout and a glowing tribute to her nation and her gender.
When speaking of lovely ladies from Africa, however, it's difficult to overlook the actress Charlize Theron who was voted "Sexiest Woman Alive" for 2007 by Esquire magazine
According to this blogger, she speaks frequently of her African heritage and is quite proud of where she comes from, as she should be. It seems, however, that some feel that she should not be considered an "African" actress.....perhaps this is a racist opinion by those who think that an "African" should always be black?
However, her "charming" score is completely diminished by her vocal anti-American stance and as a result she is only honored with one small pic from the stoat:
Isn’t Theron the bimbet who said rape would become legal if GW was elected? Or was it some other bimbet? In either case, neither her name nor her pic belong in that same thread as Ms. Louw’s (IMHO).
Sorry, the bimbet I was thinking of was cameron diaz. Apologies to Ms. Theron.
For a furry little varmit you find the darndest stories.
Your sentiments are shared by myself, and in my view also apply in large measure to Charlize Theron. She starred in "Battle in Seattle" which although I haven't seen the movie, it appears, from descriptions I've read, to glorify the WTO riots in Seattle.
Being a native Seattleite, I didn't find the WTO riots to be anything to glorify at all and showcased the worst of Seattle and the Pacific Northwest (which is very much the reality) to the world. Nothing to be proud of, nothing to celebrate, nothing to present as honorable in any way and nothing that I would consider worthwhile movie material. The riots made me even more embarrassed of Seattle than I already am, which was quite an achievement considering the loathing that I have come to feel for the city of my birth as it has rushed headlong into a race to be even further to the Left than Berkeley or San Francisco.
One naturally assumes that an accomplished and extravagantly-paid actress such as Charlize Theron can choose from a variety of projects to involve herself in, and can also choose not to if she has ideological disagreements with the focus of the film.
She has also made public statements against the United States and our efforts to secure the liberation of Iraq and freedom for her people.
These things combine to cast her in the same league with the rest of the insipid Hollywood Left, and so she doesn't have my respect and I only posted a small picture because I knew that if I didn't, after mentioning her name in the context of my post to river rat, that I would invariably be beset with twenty posts reminding me of :"the rules" at Free Republic, where anytime a 'hot' female is mentioned it's required that a pic of her be posted.
Anyway, if given the choice, I would MUCH rather take a cross-country drive with Roxy Louw than Charlize Theron any day. She could even drive the stoatmobile if she wanted to :-)
hai
I'm honored and delighted that you've found this one worthwhile :-)
My great hope is that Roxy Louw will offer you a Chief Bodyguard position, which would allow you keep her safe while she's at the beach and simultaneously patrol Free Republic via a mobile laptop. :-)
Somehow I have a feeling that Marshall Dillon would approve.
South African babe ping.
Heck I’ll take any position that makes Roxy happy.
Wonder how much she’d charge me to wax my board ?
I’ll stick with my first choice, the surfer gal...
Seems to have more “depth”....than simply an “actress”...
Agreed. Roxy Louw isn't afraid to publicly state that she has an appreciation for God and her family which, sadly, will make her an outcast among much of Hollywood and the fashion industry. Hopefully her talents will allow her to do what she likes despite her shockingly normal yet politically incorrect views.
lol...
