“Two arrested in dawn raids on suspicion of recruiting for jihad as part of Europe-wide swoop”
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Ali Ben Zidane Chehidi, 34, and Mohamed Salah Ben Hamadi Khemiri, 53, both Tunisians, were detained at their homes in London and Manchester. The swoop was part of a coordinated operation led by Italian antiterrorist police aimed at breaking up a sophisticated recruitment organisation. Some 20 suspects, mostly of North African origin, were picked up in further raids in Italy, France and Portugal.
Mr Chehidi was arrested in Purley, South London, by officers from Scotland Yard’s extradition unit assisted by Counter Terrorism Command. Another team from the extradition squad, backed up by antiterrorist officers from Greater Manchester Police, detained Mr Khemiri in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “The two men were arrested on behalf of the Italian authorities under an extradition warrant in relation to allegations that between 2003 and 2005 they forged documents to facilitate the illegal entry into Italy of recruited volunteers to fight jihad in Iraq and Afganistan.” The two men face proceedings to extradite them to Italy, where the authorities said the raids were the culmination of a four-year investigation.”

Troops Disrupt al Qaeda Networks in Iraq, Find Detention Facility

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7, 2007 – Coalition forces killed three terrorists and detained nine suspects today during operations to disrupt al Qaeda and foreign terrorist networks in central and northern Iraq.
During an operation west of Abu Ghraib, coalition forces targeted an alleged associate of several senior terrorist leaders in Kirkuk. Reports also indicate the targeted individual has information about foreign terrorists in the area. As the force secured the target, several men, one of whom was armed, maneuvered toward them. The suspected terrorists did not comply with the force’s instructions. The armed men continued to maneuver toward coalition troops, who engaged and killed them. Coalition forces detained two suspects.
In Mosul, coalition forces captured a wanted individual during an operation to disrupt al Qaeda operations. The wanted individual is believed to be a leader associated with car-bombing attacks in Baghdad. The man’s wife identified him to coalition forces, and he was subsequently detained.
In other operations along the Tigris River Valley, coalition forces detained six suspects believed to be associated with senior terrorist leaders, foreign terrorists, weapons procurement and al Qaeda media activities.
“Foreign terrorists are responsible for more than 90 percent of suicide bombings in Iraq, and we are relentlessly targeting al Qaeda’s foreign terrorist networks,” said Army Maj. Winfield Danielson, a Multinational Force Iraq spokesman. “Increasingly, Iraqi citizens are helping us find these networks and Iraqi security forces are taking the lead in dismantling them.”
In other operations this week, coalition forces killed three terrorists, and discovered a weapons cache and an alleged detention facility during a multi-day operation Nov. 3-5 targeting al Qaeda and foreign terrorist networks south of Samarra. As coalition forces entered the target area, they observed armed men attempting to evade ground forces. Supporting aircraft engaged, killing two terrorists and destroying one vehicle. As the ground force continued to clear the area, they discovered a vehicle loaded with AK-47s rifles and potential explosive materials. The force observed an individual return to the location to retrieve equipment and engaged and killed him. Also during the operation, the ground force discovered a bunker allegedly used as a terrorist detention facility, and a small cache of weapons, which was destroyed.
“Across Iraq, citizens are rejecting al Qaeda’s barbaric detention facilities, torture houses and atrocities,” Danielson said. “We will continue to work with Iraqi citizens and their security forces to neutralize al Qaeda and the extremist vision they have for Iraq.”
Elsewhere, 18th Military Police Brigade and Multinational Division Baghdad troops worked together Nov. 5 to investigate a weapons cache near the police headquarters building in Baghdad. Soldiers from 4th Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, searched a soccer field across from police headquarters and found two caches that consisted of 10 120 mm mortar rounds, 13 60 mm mortar rounds, a hand grenade, 600 AK-47 rounds, 45 blocks of C4 explosive, a rocket-propelled grenade, 4,000 rounds, 10 82 mm mortars, and two sniper rifles.
Soldiers from 6th Iraqi Army Division advised by U.S. Special Forces soldiers captured seven al Qaeda extremists during operations in Mansour on Nov. 4. The primary target for the operation was a suspected al Qaeda leader who reportedly organized and personally conducted kidnappings, murders and car-bombing attacks. He reportedly ran a criminal network thought to be behind terrorist attacks in numerous districts of Baghdad. The suspect is believed to have ordered the murder of a family of three and the killing of eight construction workers. He also is thought to be behind the attempted murder of a city council chairman and a bombing attack that killed three Iraqi checkpoint guards. During the operation, Iraqi and U.S. forces detained eight additional suspects for questioning.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “An Iranian Christian who was beaten and had equipment from her sewing shop destroyed has been told by a judge in that Middle Eastern nation that she has no recourse because she is guilty of evangelism.
The woman ran a tailoring business and volunteered to teach three girls how to sew. During their conversations, she talked about her Christian faith and began teaching them about Christianity. But one of the young women was reportedly from a Muslim family who became upset over the incident. Eventually, the sewing instructor’s shop was broken into, much of her equipment destroyed, and she was beaten and threatened with death. The woman was then taken to court, and a judge said her persecutors were within their rights to attack her.
Todd Nettleton, a spokesman with Voice of the Martyrs, says despite what Iranian leaders may want people to believe, the truth is that the Iranian government does not allow citizens to worship freely.”

In a letter to Osama bin Laden, published in the Kuwaiti daily Al-Watan, Kuwaiti MP Dr. Walid Al-Tabatabai, from the Islamic bloc in the Kuwaiti parliament, praised the jihad fighters' activities and advised him on avoiding mistakes in the jihad that Al-Qaeda is waging.
Al-Tabatabai's letter, which came in response to the speech by bin Laden that was broadcast on September 11, 2007, appealed to bin Laden to distinguish between fighting the American invader and attacking the Muslims, and to refrain from random operations which harmed innocents because such operations damaged the image of jihad and sabotaged the spreading of Islam. Al-Tabatabai also called on bin Laden to consult with Muslim clerics in order to reassess Al-Qaeda's activities and avoid mistakes in the future.

FBI's Latest Outreach Outrage

Much has been written about the U.S. government's current bout of schizophrenia in its outreach to the American Muslim community, specifically related to the Department of Justice. While federal prosecutors in Dallas have labeled several Islamist organizations as unindicted co-conspirators – describing them as front groups for Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood - in the terrorist financing trial against the Holy Land for Relief and Development (HLF), the FBI is meeting with the very same groups to hold outreach events and the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ is setting up booths at their conferences.
As wrongheaded and shortsighted as these policies are, they do not hold a candle to a recent outreach event held by the FBI's Detroit field office at the end of last month. As reported in the Detroit Free Press (see: Detroit's FBI chief: Violence extremism cuts across religions), two top FBI officials from that office "spoke to about 50 Muslims inside the Islamic Organization of North America, or Tanzeem-e-Islami." The Free Press described the organization as merely "a Sunni mosque with a primarily Pakistani congregation" and tells us that the meeting was nothing more than "part of an effort by the FBI to reach out to Muslims and other communities."
While outreach to the Muslim community remains an important endeavor, officials at the FBI and other law enforcement agencies have become far less discerning in determining who the gatekeepers and spokesmen for the American Muslim community should be.
Take this recent meeting with Tanzeem-e-Islami, a group founded in Pakistan in 1975 and headed by a man named Dr. Israr Ahmad. The FBI might be unaware, but Ahmad is often credited with initiating the vicious rumor, spread throughout the Muslim world, that Israel was responsible for the 9/11 attacks. On the heels of the attacks, he sent faxes to various U.S. mosques and Islamic centers, stating:
The secret Israeli service Musad [sic] orchestrated these terrorist attacks ... [which] are a vital link in the chain of events that the Jews are undertaking to fulfill their dream of world domination.

The Islamic Saudi Academy — a private school owned and operated by the government of Saudi Arabia in the Washington, D.C. suburbs of northern Virginia — is more than just a religious school. While its math, science, and English curricula all conform to American standards, its religion curriculum is the same as the one imposed on all schools in Saudi Arabia. For years, that curriculum has been the target of legitimate criticism for its use of textbooks that promote jihad and justify violence against Christians and Jews.
The U.S. government can’t do much about schools over there. The State Department has urged the Saudis many times to remove the justifications for violence found in its religious textbooks, yet this diplomacy has not yielded substantive results. Last year, Freedom House and the Institute for Gulf Studies released a study based on an analysis of textbooks used during that school year, which found that the books still contained numerous passages propagating hatred toward the Jews and teaching jihad against unbelievers as a fundamental Muslim virtue.
But what about the ISA — the school the Saudis operate over here? In a study released last month, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom — a watchdog group created by Congress eight years ago — recommended that if the Saudis could not at least clean up the textbooks in use at the ISA, the State Department should close the school pursuant to its powers under the Foreign Missions Act.
Nobody expected Foggy Bottom to take swift and certain action. Nevertheless, it was disappointing to see early signs that the State Department intends to ignore the commission’s findings. The official pushback came in the form of a leak to the Washington Post, published in Monday’s edition:
But State officials and others with knowledge of the issue, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing inquiry, said U.S. officials believe the commission was premature in asking that the school, supported by the Saudi government, be closed. They said the State Department was proceeding cautiously, speaking with Saudi officials about issues of religious tolerance and school curriculum, to avoid creating a crisis.
Short version: The State Department wants to give the Saudis more time. In 2006, the Saudis promised that they would revise their textbooks and change their religious curriculum, but they said it would take a couple of years. A State Department spokesman tells National Review Online that while the department is officially “still looking at the [commission’s] report,” the Saudis have said they won’t be ready until 2008. That’s just how the State Department sees it.

You're welcome A_D. It's not only morale that would be affected, but in my case I have my favorite "comfy" clothes that are easy to move around in (my anti-fashion statement) and do chores in (functional clothing).
Most importantly keeping a sufficient stash of liquid laundry detergent will make sudzing those duds most efficiently.

Losing The War On Terror — Everywhere
No one I know listens to or reads the news from CBS or NBC. Neither do they buy tickets to the movies that threaten or demean the efforts and safety of our troops. Musicians who preach anti-war rants don't sell music to us and I know of no one buying them.
Thick heads and thick wallets fund the anti-war rhetoric and liberal media. They could use ther wasted money to do good for unfortunate people here or abroad, but instead they try to "educate" us to see things "their way" (not gonna happen now or ever)! The lambs they reference are NOT sheeple.
