The University of Delaware recently made a decision to subject its students to mandatory "treatment" ('treatment' is a term used by the university) where they learn that "all whites are racist", racism by the 'people of color' is impossible, and George Washington is merely a "famous Indian fighter, large landholder and slave owner".

Student are also forced to take actions that outwardly indicate their agreement with the university’s ideology, such as displaying specific, school-approved door decorations and taking action by advocating for a social group that is defined as "oppressed" by the University.

The list of colleges and universities I will be funding for my kid’s education grows even shorter.

If students are required to show agreement with these statements, or actively promote them, that’s a 1st Amendment violation, and an example of why the ACLU can have good work to do.
I went through something like this my Freshman year. At the time, only engineering students were required to take sensitivity training. The program's presumption I was a dumb bigot permanently soured me on campus activism, which was for the good. It's basically an employment program for ethnic studies majors, the former students of Ward Churchill.
Students should try to deconstruct this by saying things like "I'm not white, I'm Irish!"
All whites are racist, therefore, I shouldn’t exist because I’m part white.
Students should NOT be held accountable for the bigotry and racism of the faculty and administration.

I would like to express my outrage at your RA program of left wing indoctrination, and essentially blackmailing of college kids, into conforming to your perverse world view. Since when did paying for a dorm room come with the requirement to confess to false crimes.
On the other hand, I pity you now that your program has been exposed. Soon you will have to explain yourself to adults with cameras, microphones and lawyers. Not to mention the flood of scorn that will wash over you and the intense pressure that will be placed on the university’s president. Welcome to your fifteen minutes of fame.
Too bad the memory of the Duke rape case and the disgusting behavior of the faculty has not diminished. The media culture is still sensative to academic misconduct.
