This is a remarkably optimistic and positive report from CNN on the situation in Iraq. At one point, the reporter goes as far as saying "the reason al-Qaeda has lost", or something to that effect.
The report does highlight some of the disappointments among the good news, but I'd say it's pretty balanced and definitely encouraging considering the source.
The following is a link to the CNN video report:

“the reason al-Qaeda has lost”, Was the reporter sad when he said it?
Was he giving Al Queda advice on how to regroup and win?
The reporters unemployment at CNN is being measured in hours right now.....
I think its more a matter of “we can’t hide it any more, time to try to save a shred of credibility”.
Did he report that a primary reason for the turnaround is that the tribal leaders stopped believing the Democrat leadership and their propaganda wing the MSM.
CNN has lost credibility and the surge is working.
I remember something about people wanting to bet on a winning horse.
I saw part of this while flipping last night. I was flipping toward Fox and had to pass CNN. I stopped and went back when I saw words on the screen that said something to the affect about winning in Iraq. I missed most of it, but what little I saw was positive and pro-American. It is the longest 6 minutes I have watched CNN since the last presidential election.
What is going on? Surely CNN is not trying to be Fair and Balanced in pursuit of their competition from Fox. Lord help me if I have to start watching CNN.
It might go that way, yes...
I hope the Walgreens closest to Pelosi’s office is well-stocked with Tums. I have a feeling they’re about to run out.
As the MSM and Demagogues realize they can no longer get away with portraying Iraq as a lost cause, watch for them to try to “re-frame” the issue...... soon the emphasis will revert to mistakes made, claims that Al Qaeda was only there to fight BOOOOSH, etc. Still, it is developing as a decisive defeat for Al Qaeda and all jihadists. They made Iraq their central focus and now they will have to rationalize defeat with new streams of lying propaganda. Lucky for them, they will have plenty of assistance from our Demagogues and DBM types.
Does this mean the Democrat presidential candidates will refuse to attend a debate staged by CNN?
was he sad when he said that??
God bless our brave troops and President Bush.
One reason they lost is that they mindlessly made it difficult for their best allies (i.e. the MSM) to enter areas like Ramadi. When that happened, it made it much easier for our troops to take the gloves off. No video, no Tet.
One reason this may be slipping into their commentary, other than the fact that it is true, is Clinton’s campaign promise to remove all troops except those around our embassy and any that might be required to fight AQ in Iraq.
No Iraq, no troops required.
