In a report posted on the website Atlantic Free Press, Code Pink leader Medea Benjamin claims that a high-ranking Democrat staffer demanded the immediate release of the protesters who were arrested at yesterday's House hearing where Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was assaulted by a Code Pink protester.
Benjamin, who was also arrested by Capitol Police outside the hearing room, wrote this morning that, "The Deputy Chief of Staff of the House Foreign Relations Committee contacted the Capitol Police later in the day to again relay that their (sic) is a policy of that committee to not arrest Citizen (sic) protesters but to instead escort them out of the room. The Deputy asked for the CODEPINK members to be released promptly from custody."
Code Pink has many allies in the Democratic majority who facilitate their illegal behavior. The assault by Code Pink on Sec. Rice crossed a line. That the Democrats demanded the immediate release of the Code Pink protesters is an appalling abuse of power and an insult to Sec. Rice.

How was she able to get THAT close to Secretary Rice in the first place? This is more that just yelling out something in a meeting or holding up a sign. Let her sit in jail for a while.

Do you have to be physically revolting to be in Code Pink or is it a coincidence? It's not a requirement, but it help to forment the self-loathing that is just under the skin of and a major motivating factor for most of these wackos.
BTW, I think it's time for this again: http://sixmeatbuffet.com/images/theirsoursbig.jpg (It's the "theirs vs. ours" image of conservative vs. liberal women -- don't know how to embed an image, so could someone else?)

From that article:
Fairooz wants the Iraqi war to end not only to save the lives of American soldiers, but also because of what the war is doing to the women and children of Iraq who have been displaced, abused, or massacred. Our troops are committing atrocities. They dont belong there, and keeping them there exacerbates the problem. Occupying a foreign land is not American.
A recent report jointly produced by Code Pink and Global Exchange...lays part of the blame on the United States and refers to stories told by Iraqi women of being sexually and violently assaulted by U.S. military personnel, especially in detainment centers. I know what it feels like to be a foreigner in your own country, she said.
Another American-hating lefty.

How was she able to get THAT close to Secretary Rice in the first place? Doesn't anyone read the posts on these threads? That has to be about the 25th time someone has asked how "she got that close?"

It’s the damned dhimmicrats that repeatedly provide the Code Pink whackjobs with tickets to the gallery.
Code Pink shouldn’t be allowed in the first place.

The Dems invited Michael to the 2004 DNC. No surprise they make a habit of inviting the kooks.
To: Beckwith
This had to have been orchestrated by the Committee staff. I was a lobbyist in Washington for many years and have attended lots of Congressional hearings. The front row of seats are always reserved for staff of the witnesses. Security is ordinarily very tight whenever a Cabinet member is testifying. The Cabinet member is usually brought into the hearing room from the rear where the Members of Congress enter. It is unthinkable to me that anyone could have gotten that close to Secretary Rice unless they had specific permission to do so.
