Huge Dinosaur Skeleton Unearthed
CBS News / Associated Press ^ | October 15, 2007

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, October 15, 2007

(AP) The skeleton of what's believed to be a new dinosaur species - a 105-foot plant-eater that is among the largest dinosaurs ever found - has been uncovered in Argentina, scientists said Monday.

Scientists from Argentina and Brazil said the Patagonian dinosaur appears to represent a previously unknown species of Titanosaur because of the unique structure of its neck. They named it Futalognkosaurus dukei after the Mapuche Indian words for "giant" and "chief," and for Duke Energy Argentina, which helped fund the skeleton's excavation.

“Actually Futalognkosauru is derived from the Coney Islandish meaning “Nathan’s” and “the big one” and is properly pronounced “foot-long-ko-saurus”.”

I don’t know about the dinosaur’s place in the hierarchy, however it does take 12 inches to be a ruler.

The original suggested name of “Fukinlongasaurus” obviously didn’t make it past the censors.

Now that's funny!

You are not just out of your Ball Park, you’re out of your Hebrew National league. You are full of baloney and the wurst excuse for a human bean I’ve never met. Guys like you are a dino dozen.

But—at least you mustard up the courage to speak your mind.

Futalognkosaurus dukei. Can’t they come up with something original?

THe actual name of the dinosaur, as announced by Nathan’s hotdogs was “Footlongcausestsaurus” ( A footlong hotdog will cause you trouble = tsoros is Yiddish for trouble). Never met a footlong hotdog that gave me trouble, but if you get one with a lot of filler, you could have tsoros.

There was a place at Atlantic City in 1963 that featured cheap foot long hotdogs, and they were pretty good. However, the girl behind the counter serving them was one of the most beautiful young women I had ever seen.

I’ll always remember that hotdog, the “Hotdog of the summer of ‘63”.

Did get to date the hamburger girl in Elizabethtown, Pa, in the summer of ‘65. A really nice, cute and intelligent girl, too. Gladys, I still think of you and your smile.

My granddaughter will be tickled pink to know that there is another dinosaur model we can add to her collection (now over 20 different types, and growing). And she is only 2-1/2, and knows their names.

She has tea with them every day, and lets some eat marshmellows with her too.

Barney, however, is not her favorite tv character. ELMO is!

THe kid has taste!

What is it with kids and dinosaurs?

That must be really funny to see her have tea with her dinosaurs.

"North America's dinosaurs don't even compare, Mackovicky added in a phone interview. "Dinosaurs do get big here, but nothing near the proportions we see in South America."

Yeah. Well, dig this Mr. Mackovicky ...
