(AP) The skeleton of what's believed to be a new dinosaur species - a 105-foot plant-eater that is among the largest dinosaurs ever found - has been uncovered in Argentina, scientists said Monday.
Scientists from Argentina and Brazil said the Patagonian dinosaur appears to represent a previously unknown species of Titanosaur because of the unique structure of its neck. They named it Futalognkosaurus dukei after the Mapuche Indian words for "giant" and "chief," and for Duke Energy Argentina, which helped fund the skeleton's excavation.

I just they aged it properly before they buried it so we don’t have another controversy like the pterodactyl.
Another one! Is it related to the one in last week’s thread?
Of interest? ping
Woops, you are right, it was posted last week
under a different (AP?) title. Sorry everyone!
Prehistoric, actually.
should be: 105Footalongasaurus dukei
or just ‘damnbigosaurus’
and as for the Titanosaurs...guess they were sunk from the get-go.
The genetic search function gives spotty results.
Didn’t know Hugo Chavez was descended from a long line of plant eaters...big enough thought...
New species means new theories. Open up that gap book. Gotta find a spot for it.
That is because of the advanced economics of North America. After being dug up, scientific testing of the buried bondisaurus indicated that although roughly normal size, its skeleton supported an abnormally large musculature. *Spectrographic analysis indicates some sort of substance was used.
Duke tosses bones to unuseful yapping idiots.
Gotta love it!
You are a wordsmith.
I believe the ending means "side of slaw", which of course is nuts. You want a "side of cheese fries". No wonder they went extinct.
Heck, that is nothing, I passed by the site of the bones of another ancient dinosaur skeleton, rather then call for a professional assesment I examined the carcass myself..
As I closed on the fossil, it had writing on it....
New York Times, Weekend Edition..
I named it thusly...Mediaus Narccissus
I'm not familiar with the dactyl controversy
Sounds like something from South Park episode.

There are a couple of pictures floating around of people who seem to have found a pterodactyl. I have always assumed that whoever fakes the ages of those dinosaur fossils just screwed up.
