I haven't decided how to vote. I know that I cannot pull the lever for any of the DNC candidates, or the top 5 GOP candidates on the pollingreport.org site today (Giuliani, Thompson, McCain, Romney, and Huckabee).

1. I don't believe even if "he who shall not be named" were NOT a "candidate" you would be voting for any of the 5 listed and it had zero to do with principle, you have none.

2. "he who shall not be named 2008" was the last listed sponsor of the event, it was his dance.

3. I have been in some very heated debates in my 3 years here and have never, until this point, made it personal, you have earned an exception: You Old 300 are a fraud and agitator.

4. I would like to propose the congressman from Texas who claim to be a conservative be referred to from this point forward as "he who shall not be named".

Respectfully,

ONC

I’m no expert - far from it.

But even you admit that you’re stretching it.

You say Hunter is niave. I think Ron Paul is fooling himself, and you, if he thinks he can continue to espouse his libertarian agenda, all the while embracing the ant war liberal left wing Democrats.

You claim that he isn’t a pacifist. Then why does he continue to surround himself with pacifists, attend events sponsored by them and accept their money?

I don’t see much to discuss in that post, do you? Thanks.

But even you admit that you’re stretching it.

Stretching what? I don't follow you. In any case, guilt by association is off topic to the issues at hand. Issues are important. Ron Paul is talking about my issues. Duncan Hunter is not. He's actually part of the problem with respect to civil liberties.

I would like to combine Ron Paul's stance on civil liberties with Duncan Hunter's stance on trade. But faced with a choice between totally free trade (which would be better than CAFTA/NAFTA) and what Napolitano refers to as the biggest attacks on our civil liberties since the British were sleeping in our homes, I'll take the candidate who's doing the most to protect our liberty every time.

It looks like I’m the one who hit a nerve. Could you explain what I’ve said that bothers you?

While there are a few points that Paul makes that I agree with, his association with the left leaning, Move-On crowd and over the top personality far outways any positives he may have.

If you support his message on civil liberties, I can respect that.

He’s just not the man I can accept to lead our country.

I do not believe these powers are being massively abused PERIOD

We are AT WAR for crying out loud... we don't have the time to waste... we need all the "edge" we can get to kill the enemy... PERIOD...

As for Duncan Hunter.. he IS the RIGHT man at RIGHT time... to take on the AWESOME responsibily of Commander in Chief.... While I appreciate Ron Paul's constitutional views... and for the most part agree with him... we have to deal with REAL WORLD here... and Ron Paul as Commander in Chief would be a DISASTER !! Ron Paul the congressman has a LOT to bring to the debates and discussions, and for the most part I agree with and appreciate the hard line stance he takes in congress, and he needs to keep up the fight in THAT arena...

Why wrong about DH? Do you think we’re going in the right direction with unconstitutional security bills congress and the senate couldn’t even read before voting on? Do you understand the criticisms offered by Judge Napolitano?

You need to listen more to Ron Paul. He has repeatedly said that he does not intend to throw people into the streets and that any transition will be slow. Unlike the other candidates, however, it is true that RP does have a final goal of a free society in mind. Their motivations don’t appear to extend beyond winning an election.

Understood, and thanks. I know you care about the right things, too. How we get there is always up for debate until the elections!

Then we’ll have to disagree. I don’t know if you’ve taken time to listen to Napolitano, but simply on the basis that the text of the PA1 was unread by those who voted for it alone, I think it’s a travesty. These bills have the power to tear our Republic down in them. But the expert is Napolitano. He has the judiciary expertise to explain why.

We are AT WAR for crying out loud...

And for generations, as the present leadership tells us. How much longer should we have to live without our Bill of Rights intact? We spent four years fighting WWII and then it was over. We knew how to win and we did it.

When you consider what's gone on with FEMA disarming citizens in New Orleans, the treatment of the Minute Men as pariahs, and the executive telling us that amnesty wasn't amnesty, I think it's time to do a reality check on freedom. We are veering further and further away from representational government. How did that happen? Can we trust the people in DC who are so disrespectful of our desire to see the rule of law upheld?

I say not. Powerful government is not the answer, it's part of the problem.

..I have heard Andy many many times on Fox over the years--he is a very intelligent man--his Libertarian leanings notwithstanding.

AND, IMO, even if I held those views, RP is the wrong messenger--his statements about the war on worldwide tv while we have people in the field is unforgivable...

But they’re fighting for our freedom. Can’t we talk about protecting it? We should and we must. The whole reason we’re in this mess with unread bills that do untold damage to our civil liberties is because congressional leadership did not give adequate time for discussion, used fear tactics to achieve its goals, and created text that requires a lawyer to understand.
