Yes, since they slandered both him and the students and basically fired him while saying he had resigned. He stood by the students and insisted they were innocent throughout the whole affair.
That’s it then .Thanks
Duke is not taxpayer funded, it’s a private college, and it’s decided to employ idiot leftists that can’t keep their foolish mouths shut.
The coach deserves every dime he can get, even if it was on the taxpayers, which it isn't.
I hope he gets a lot of money, but I really wish the trustees would fire Brodhead and hire somebody with courage and integrity.
and the 88 morons who still “teach” there refuse to apologize. What a disgrace to humanity!

My mistake.
Since he stood by the students ,the distinction between resigning under pressure and waiting to be fired is no longer of import to me . I was confused on that point , thanks . I hope he gets whatever he is entitled to .

I thought that Duke was a private university... While it may get state funds, it's not on par with say, UNC...
Mark
Duke will lose this. The only way to respond to questions about a closed case like this is “no comment.”
This Sr. VP fool commented! Ha. You and your hoity toity uni are toast once again. Enjoy the roast.
Bingo!! I always wondered about the coach who was forced out....hope he hits ‘em hard!
I’m not a very sue happy person.
I make complete exception for this guy and the players.
I DO feel sorry for any students that attend Duke or may rely on scholarships that could be affected by the lawsuits hitting Duke, IF those students were not apart of the mob out to lynch all of these guys.
But the faculty deserve this, as does any alumni that stood by rather then forcing the faculty to back down from their witchhunt. they were complicit, they deserve to lose money out of their pockets for it.
No.
Unfortunately, that action wouldn't go far enough to salvage Duke..
There are at LEAST 88 racist multicultural imbeciles on staff, and hundreds others who did NOT speak against their racist and justice denying actions.
Duke will need drastic "surgery, which it is very unlikely to receive...
Parents would be well advised to avoid this zoo for quite a long time....
It should be apparent that Duke has gone the way of many American institutions worshiping at the altar of "affirmative action" and "victimology" in the mistaken belief that all cultures are equal....
Very sad that those with Duke degrees from prior ages have this embarrassment to deal with...
It is they who will have to bring pressure to bear on Duke to restore past reputation...
After all my years I finally made a mistake. Thanks for correcting me, along with all the others.
He was given a choice: “resign” or Duke shuts down lacrosse completely and forever.
I’m guessing that lawyers from the university will meet within ten days...iron out a good deal...make sure the coach keeps his mouth shut on the settlement....and he gets a check for $5 million. Taxes and lawyers will eat up $1.5 million of that...so he’ll have to be happy with $3.5 million...but hey...thats more than you’d need to live a good life.
I agree. The more the merrier. They let their agendas totally run with the ball, no thought to LOGIC or anything honorable or justice. I love seeing this. I hope Duke is reduced to a few core departments and ALL the flim-flam studies lose funding. Couldn’t happen to a better place. I hope it makes all the liberal universities squirm.
He fought hard for those students, don’t you remember? He said that was his main job. And then he stood beside them all the way. I believe they forced him out. He was very honorable all the way through it, is how I remember it.
When Nick Saban broke his contract and left Miami Dolphins last year, he scraped in $33 million from Alabama!!!
