The evidence for Neocommunism

By James Lewis

There is a compelling factual case to be made that the contemporary radical Left can properly be called "Neocommunist." The Hard Left is grounded in Marxist vision of creating a "new man" under a system led by a vanguard that knows best what the rest of society needs. And Neocommies behave in patterns with startling parallels to Old Communist tactics.

The Neocommies are not members of a Communist Party, and are part more of a movement than a conspiracy. They are utterly different from traditional liberalism in America and Europe. Traditional liberals were democratic -- people like Hubert Humphrey, Scoop Jackson and Harry Truman. They fought passionately against the Totalitarian Left, as Ronald Reagan did when he was president of the Screen Actors Guild. Reagan started as a democratic liberal, and became the most famous conservative of the 20th century. As he said so often, he didn't leave the Democratic Party -- it left him.

------------------

I'm afraid America has real enemies today. They are totalitarians who shout to the world that they are bound and determined to bring us Paradise on Earth -- as long as it's under their collective thumb. It doesn't really matter whether they are Islamists or Stalinists. They are not hard to figure out, since they proclaim their message from the rooftops. It is an ancient disease flaring up again.

Winning against Neo-Communism is a matter of reaching hearts and minds, as it always is. Yes, you can love the sinners, just don't fool yourself about the sin. It all starts with telling the truth that is right in front of our eyes.

This is a long column that presents a compelling case that we have just as big a job today as we had in the post WWII era. Read it and discuss.

All that happened when the Soviet Union collapsed was that communism escaped its borders. It began to spread like the cancer it is, fulfilling Trotsky's vision of a Communist International, a nation of ideas rather than fixed geographic boundaries.

The Leftist movements you see so frequently these days are the eruptions of that phenomenon. Just as terrorism forces us to fight a new war, so does this boundless threat. It is still an "evil empire," just one that lives in the shadows.

Neocoms and Neocons should both get lost and stop dragging the USA into their favorite struggles to control the world.

Not so much in the shadows any more --they're right out in front of our faces and yet it seems that more and more people are buying their phony bill of goods.

That's what was so devastating to me about the '06 elections. I was sure that more than enough people could see the shenanigans of the left for what they were and would soundly reject them. And yet, here we are--they are even louder and bolder and I do not sense that a majority of Americans are ready to beat them down.

It's do or die time, and I fear for my kids and grandkids.

In the old days, they proudly proclaimed their communism. Nowadays, they hide it behind other rhetoric: "progressive," "global," "multicultural," etc.. But in fact, it's the same wine in a new bottle.

You can see them in the shadows. You just have to look a little harder.

This is an excellent piece and well worth the time it takes to read.

It should be obvious that today’s left is merely a continuation of the project that began with the French Revolution, took shape with the work of Karl Marx, reached maturity under the leadership of Lenin and Stalin and failed so spectacularly with the fall of the Berlin Wall. It should be but it isn’t.

The left has always been about redefining the ruling class and enhancing its power. Hillary is every bit as much an enemy of freedom as Stalin was. She isn’t guilty of mass murder — yet. But mass murder is where her approach to politics will take us as surely as following Route 1 South will eventually take you to Key West.

The modern Democrat Party is not a normal American political movement. It is, as Mr. Lewis indicates, a European-style, crypto-totalitarinan organization dedicated to destroying the last vestiges of the founders’ Republic. This is a point that can’t be made often enough or forcefully enough. Unfortunately, it is also a point that Americans seem to be incapable of grasping.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

YES! YES! YES!

The above can not be said often enough! We are fighting our most dangerous and important enemy in a philosophical civil war and we do NOT even can the enemy what he is. >>Communist<<!

There is NO such thing as a liberal, progressive, socialist, or leftists. They are only one of two things> Marxist or Useful Idiot!

The Marxist’s MOST important and effective weapon against freedom is our system of schools. They OWN our K/2 government schools and our colleges and universities, and they have plenty of useful idiots ( especially in our K/12 schools) to help them in their goal to destroy freedom!

We can survive a nuclear suit case bomb, but we will NOT survive if the Marxists ( the Neocommunists) succeed in indoctrinating the next generation of voters.

Scratch a liberal and under his thin skin is a socialist. Dig a little deeper and you will find the Marxist nuclear fuel rods that drive everything he says and does.

it's the same wine in a new bottle.

I prefer to use the analogy of a can of crap, wrapped in a label of communism, wrapped in a label of socialism, wrapped in a label of liberalism, wrapped in a label of progressive.

Good article.

A writer named Robert Ringer years ago wrote "A liberal is a closet socialist, and a socialist is a closet communist." I've seen little if anything to prove him wrong.

PJ O'Rourke described socialism as "communism sold by the drink."

I also think of it as communism being a horde of idiots running toward a cliff. Socialism just means they're walking. Liberalism means they're walking and carrying protest signs. Progressivism means they're hiding behind the shrubbery.

It means we all need to get off our collective asses and fight. Commenting and complaining are worthless. If you won’t get active you are wasting everyone’s time.

I have fought this fight for nearly 10 years, 7 of which living in a heavily Democrat area. Ruthless, no mercy, and no prisoners, that’s what it takes. This is war, and not for the lighthearted.

“A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.

A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.”

“The average age of the worlds greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years. During those 200 years, these nations always progressed through the following sequence:

1. From bondage to spiritual faith;
2. From spiritual faith to great courage;
3. From courage to liberty;
4. From liberty to abundance;
5. From abundance to complacency;
6. From complacency to apathy;
7. From apathy to dependence;
8. From dependence back into bondage “
