Wesley Clark: Nix Limbaugh From Armed Forces Radio
Newsmax ^ | October 3, 2007 | not specified

In a blog to the Huffington Post, former NATO Supreme Commander Wesley Clark called for Congress to immediately take steps to remove conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh from Armed Forces Radio.

Last week, Rush Limbaugh labeled any American soldier who supports an end to the war in Iraq as "phony," noted Clark.

"We challenged Limbaugh through an email campaign to invite VoteVets.org's Jon Soltz to his show and repeat these same insults to an Iraq war veteran's face. Over 10,000 people responded and emailed Rush -- but to our disappointment, he has refused to respond to our request.

"It's time to put real pressure on Rush Limbaugh. His show is broadcast on Armed Forces Radio, and this time we are going to go straight to the lifeblood of Rush's show -- Congress. Congress has the power to remove Rush Limbaugh from Armed Forces Radio, and it won't be as easy for elected officials to ignore our call."

Clark further decried the fact that Republicans in Congress have drafted a resolution supporting Rush Limbaugh, "commending [his] relentless efforts to build and maintain troop morale through worldwide radio broadcasts and personal visits to conflict regions."

"That's outrageous," concluded Clark. "Rush Limbaugh's 'phony soldiers' comment should not be commended -- it should be condemned. And it's time to tell Congress to act swiftly to hold Rush Limbaugh accountable."

I sincerely hope our military hasn’t been infiltrated by too many “Clarks”.

We believe in free speech and all, but Rush shouldn’t be allowed to say this.

Believe me, there are plenty of "Clarks" in the military. Back in the raTHergate days, there were some commisioned and warrant officers (I personally know) who were hoping that Bush would not be reelected.

have you even listed to the tape? He DIDN’T. Even a 5th grader could see they all have joined forces with a political motive to twist his words. Thank God most of America is at least as smart as a 5th grader.

The only thing worse than his bluff, oops, blog are the comments by many of the koolaid drinkers following the inane article! A few stood up for Freedom of Speech and Rush, but most were Phony citizens. [Can I say that?]

‘FWIW, most people in the military love Rush, and would love to get their hands on Weasley and the other “phony soldiers” like Macbeth and Skerry.’

Yep.

Its telling just how disconnected the leftwingers are from the reality of who is in our military, and what they think.

"What he says bears no resemblance to the truth...

One of the biggest mistakes one can make in dealing with leftists is presuming that truth or objective, factual information is the end goal. Lets explore the issue, come to a reasonable conclusion based upon the facts, and reach a "consensus" or mutually agreeable solution. The achilles heel, even, for honest people of all stripes includes a willingness to compromise and bargain in good faith, etc. None of this matters to leftists or cultural subversives, except to take advantage of such easily subverted naivety. It's unfortunate that Gen. Clark has signed on with such an odious crowd. Of all people, he should be equally outraged about Mr. Macbeths' egregious conduct and the ramifications thereof.

As said before, make no doubt, if Hillary becomes Pres, one of her first actions will be to take Rush off AFN

So it’s ok to call four star general Clark “Weasly”, a “wacko”, a “joker” and stupid.

But referring to General “Betraeus” warrants endless apoplectic tirades by people who are outraged that anyone would use such a word to describe a general in the Army.

The good news is that this is exactly what Rush is referring to when he says "Drive By Media". Clark himself will forget about this in about two weeks.

Clark is an opportunist who has found a niche on the left, who may be at least partly motivated by bitterness that his "triumph" in Kosovo has already been overshadowed and forgotten. I seriously doubt he's a True Believer in the "progressive" cause, and he certainly doesn't have the stomach or will for a prolonged fight on this issue.

Believe me, if the Bush Administration had brought him on board to help plan the war, he'd be singing a different tune these days.

Clark - poster girl for the Perfumed Generals...

This is the clown who almost went to war against the Russians during our war against the Christian Serbians to “protect Muslims” from a falsely reported genocide - when he ordered a UK General to fire on the Russians who had occupied an airfield against Clark’s orders..

The UK General disobeyed the order, saying he refused to “Start WWIII for you.”

SUGGESTION: ASK the Military if they would rather delete Rush from AFR broadcasts or some freaking Leftist program..

“The worst thing about the ‘Return of the Clinton's’ is the return of their wicked elves”

My thoughts exactly! MoveOn.org, MediaMatters. etc. etc.

Thank God for Fred coming out against Dingy Harry.

Are there no strong Republicans that will fight for conservative ideas anymore?

Perhaps, but I suspect she will cut military spending too, just like her hubby. After all, we need health care for the ‘chillrun’.
