Ann Coulter has a new book. "If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd be Republicans." Suggested subtitle ... "You Can't Fix Stupid."
I guess we now know just what sentence, paragraph or thought expressed in Coulter's book is going to be used by the MoveOn Democrat Party and the loony left in an attempt to demonize her.
Here's an excerpt from an interview with Ann Coulter by George Gurley. Here we find Coulter talking about women: "If we took away women's right to vote, we'd never have to worry about another Democrat president. It's kind of a pipe dream, it's a personal fantasy of mine, but I don't think it's going to happen. And it is a good way of making the point that women are voting so stupidly, at least single women."
The left is sure to jump on this like a crow on a June bug. Thing is .... Coulter is exactly right. Don't take her word for it, just read "Freedomnomics" by John Lott. Here we have a renowned economist going all the way back to the late 1980s to see what happens when women get the vote.
His findings? In every single case, when women were given the right to vote the cost of government immediately began to rise as women, particularly single women, started voting for the candidates who would create more government spending programs designed to provide women with security. That magic word .. .security.
Lott found that young single women overwhelmingly vote liberal. When they marry and start a family they start voting more conservatively. That would be because their sense of security is provided by their family, and they don't want government to interfere in their accumulation of wealth.
Then, if that very same woman starts to feel that her marriage is threatened ... or if she becomes divorced ... she right back there voting for liberals again. Why? Security .. this time from the government instead of her husband. Coulter is right. Deal with it.
If Hillary Clinton becomes (God forbid) the next president of this country, it will be on the vote of young single women and divorcees.
What is more unfortunate, is that the libs who do not like Hillary will vote her in just to ensure a lib in power. There are many of those here too.
I will not vote for her, but I know many who will. I am sorry to say that NJ will go to the Dems again. (expect my area, the northwest NJ area is more Republican than most areas.)
Wimmin are Evil...blah blah blah
As long as Ann is talking about fantasies - I'll keep this clean - here are some fantasies of mine 0
Repeal the amendment of voting directly for Senators, placing it back in the hands of State Legislatures.
A Constitutional Amendment that says the only ones who can vote are -
one - 21 years or older
two - own property and pay taxes
three - have served three or more years in the United States Military
Spouses of those who fall in cat 2 can also vote.
Interesting observation: If we can’t find a man that will put up with our lunacy, we’ll create a virtual breadwinner and protector in the form of government, and then shop for ‘marital aids’, or simply bat from the other side of the plate.
Sounds like a good book too, Freedomnomics.
Although emotion could easily take one to such a conclusion, the postings of any number of self-controlled ladies in this thread attest to the fact that logic will not.
I like Condi, although she's been overshadowed at State by our just and moral crusade against the Islamofascists. Plus, she's pro-abortion and may be liberal on other social issues. Still, I'd vote for Condi if she were on the ticket, if only to prevent Saul Alinsky's Spawn from gaining power.
“Heck. Id give up the vote if it meant that wed go back to the kind of country we used to have.”
I know that the overall effect of the women’s vote is to move America left and to soften our overall society and it’s approaches to solutions (and even defining the problems)
I bought some property for the first time about 4 years ago , but all my life, including during the sixties, I always supported the idea that only property owners should vote.
Although it would have meant no vote for me, I was fine with keeping voting only for the more conservative elements of our society, as the founding fathers intended.
I still support that, I am of course conservative but I would give up my right to vote in a Giuliani minute, to help restore America’s golden future.
women are not the only sex that votes democrat. And personally, I have met more male dems than female dems in my area.
I will not give up any rights. sorry!
I will not give up my right to vote, right to free speech, right to bear arms, etc.
This thread is vile.
LOL. I guess "Here we go, more "He Man Woman Haters" Club, BS!! Wimmin are Evil...blah blah blah" was a rational argument.
When women agree with the premise, you respond with "I'll never give up my rights." But, if a man dares to suggest Amendment XIX was a mistake, you lash out and brand him a "He Man Woman Hater." That's not emotional?
personally, I have met more male dems than female dems in my area.
Okay. Athough that's not statistically significant, I suppose it might serve in some way to explain your militant defensiveness.
Doesn’t sound stupid at all, actually. No observation about human behavior is absolute. Ann’s saying essentially the same thing.
As leader’s go, the percentages of great female leaders to so-so/bad leaders is likely to be consistent with male leaders. Do you think Thatcher might have been an effective first female President? Maybe Jeanne Kirkpatrick? Jennifer Dunn in WA state would have been a great President, in my opinion.
There are others too. I believe leadership quality is blind to gender. You either have it, and its developed and nutured in you, or you don’t, and no amount of help can bring it out. I laugh when executives in companies say, “We’ll have no managers here, only leaders!”
Leadership development has its basis on a shared set of character traits and values, which is a sticky legal wicket for a lot of companies in the US. It’s not like teaching Management by objective, or other ‘managerial science’ topics.
For years, I've been saying and posting (1) Amendment XIX is to blame for most of what ails this nation ....
newgeezer: You keep talking like that you won't live to be an OLDgeezer.
My understanding is that more women vote liberal because it often speaks to issues that are more upfront and personal—— National Debt? What’s that? Feeding the homeless that live in the shelter down the street? That’s real.
Now....while we’re cleaning up the dregs of the universe that have destroyed this great country-—
start with taking away all the rights of women, that’ll fix a lot.
But don’t forget that Jews AND Blacks also vote primarily lib.
I mean, all for the sake of liberty and REAL freedom do we need to reign in those who don’t think the way we want them to....
Correct?
Nope,
JRBC and I (plus several other ‘conservative’ women) have been made to feel like Blacks at KKK meetings on several threads as of late.
We are evil because we
vote
work
don’t have kids
speak our minds
expect to be treated with the same respect as males
don’t have a religion
have tattoos and piercings etc etc etc.
Why she isn’t more pissed off is what surprises me!
There are plenty of idiot men out there with stupid lib ideas as well. To say it’s a female trait is moronic.
“The women got the vote and the Nation got Harding.”
that 35% Hispanics vote GOP is not accurate, it’s less than that.
i think they supported Bush as a favorite son in one of the elections that skewed that...not arguing, but I’m pretty sure it’s more like 75-80% typically
the only women who trend voting GOP are white Christian married with children women and southern white women ...that’s it
I want to take the time here to applaud the women on this thread willing to accpet the truth....that takes guts rather than simply denying this or throwing out canards
