This afternoon we received a call from a viewer who said a business near downtown Reno was flying a Mexican flag above an American flag... which is in fact illegal.
This, after photos and comments about the flag were posted on Craigslist this morning. When we were able to have a photographer go and check everything out we found the story to be true.
It also didn t take long before the situation provoked a strong reaction. We are now going to show you , unedited, what happened. Click on the video to see what happened.

Very well said.
Thanks for your service and continuing to defend this country. I wish there were more who would stand up to defend her against this invasion.
Texas now has some businesses that accept pesos. Many local commercials from the big city have someone speaking with a mexican accent. In this year alone one city has had 15,000 car burglaries. That doesn’t count home and other burglaries. For instance if you’re brave enough to go to one of their malls someone may drive up as you’re leaving to ask for directions and then point a gun in your face and take your purse.
There’s at least one or two shootings every day.
It’s going downhill fast, and our government just fiddles and twiddles their thumbs. I guess it IS up to citizens like this brave man to take matters into his own hands.
I view it as an act of war

Don't remind me that embassies and the like generally fly their own country's flag only; they are privileged by accepted usage.
The Vet, by saying they would have to fight him to get the flag back, while waving his knife at the camera, might have left himself open to prosecution for threatening with a deadly weapon. I guess he doesn't care
Taking down the flags is vandalism.
Long live free speech!!!"
Pretty dumb thing to say considering what you have in your profile. Personally I think you come off like a Moveon or KOS freak.
Here is what YOU put on your profile page.
Theres right and theres wrong. You gotta do one or the other. You do the one and youre living. You do the other and you may be walking around, but youre dead as a beaver hat. ___ John Wayne in The Alamo
I don't know who WF Johnstone is?
And I mixed up William W. Johnstone with Terry C. Johnstone (I have read many Westerns by Terry Johnstone ...excellent!)
However, I stand by the one book I've read by this William W. Johnstone....Remember the Alamo..
And BTW, William W. Johnstone and Terry C. Johnstone are deceased.
Terry C. Johnston....not Johnstone
So?
It is best to attribute this whole thing to "a learning experience" and admit your error. FReepers are forgiving in the long term.
As an aside, I suddenly have a desire to rock out to some old ZZ Top, and I don't know why.
La Grange, anyone?
>>Don’t remind me that embassies and the like generally fly their own country’s flag only; they are privileged by accepted usage.<<
In fact, a Mexican embassy inside the USA is legally part of Mexico’s territory, so flying its own flag there is OK. A restaurant or bar in the USA is not Mexican territory, although some have tried to act as if it were.
Freedom to speak does not grant you freedom from consequences for your speech.... Business owner had his say, the Vet has his.
Let the owner try to prosecute him for vandalism and theft.... Somehow I doubt the coward will. And if he does, good luck finding a jury who’s going to convict.
I agree with that. The question is, how far do people condone it going? Vandalism? Assualt? Lynching?
Take the Jenna 6 situation. Was that an acceptable form of counter speech?
Free speech counters free speech. Vandalism is not free speech and I don't think it's protected as such under 1A

You might be right that he won't prosecute. However, if he did, I doubt this case would go to a jury.
Oh it would.. Any magistrate decision is instantly appealable, and when you are the defendent you get to decide if you want your trial to be a jury trial or a bench trial.
Jury Nullification is a valid part of the US justice system, and no sane jury would convict this guy for his actions. Flying the US flag under a foreign national flag is a signal of subjugation and agression.
Im both shocked and amazed...
That they did not hang the US flag upside down...
If you don’t get it then I’m not wasting my time explaining it to you.
You are either a liberal or a not very smart Republican.
It might be considered the 'shot heard around America.' What a rallying cry for those who believe in the sovereignty of the United States.
