An anti-war group consisting of veterans from the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan is launching an ad Tuesday that attacks popular conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh.
The group, VoteVets.org, is spending $60,000 on the ad, which will air on Fox News and CNN. In addition, a radio version of the ad will run during Limbaughs show in Washington, D.C., and Palm Beach, Fla., the group said.
At issue is Limbaughs controversial phony soldiers remark that was made during a broadcast last week in response to a caller who criticized soldiers who spoke out against the war in Iraq. While Limbaugh says his remark is directed at people pretending to have a service record and seeking the limelight, Democrats have taken the statement as an insult to the troops who are serving but do not support the war and called the remark hateful and unpatriotic.
The VoteVets.org ad features Brian McGough, a veteran who was injured and received the Purple Heart.
More and more troops and veterans of Iraq believe George Bushs military policy has been a disaster ... I am one of them, McGough said. Rush Limbaugh called vets like me phony soldiers for telling the truth about Iraq. Rush, the shrapnel I took to my head was real. My traumatic brain injury was real. And my belief that we are on the wrong course in Iraq is real. Until you have the guts to call me a phony solider to my face, stop telling lies about my service.
The ad is a play on Limbaughs on-air Monday challenge to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) to repeat what he had said on the Senate floor about the talk show host to his face.

It should have the money.
VoteVets.org, is another creature conceived with George Soros’ money.
I noticed the sudden deep pockets, too, mojito. Thanks for posting this.
Kind of glad the types of “soldiers” are not in the military anymore.
Better they spend it on something this stupid instead of ........what is it they do again? ;-)
It has been said, that a lie can be half-way around the world, before the the truth has a chance to put its boots on.
Phony soldier. One who may or may not have actually worn the uniform of the military service, however briefly, then go on to fabricate distortions and bald-faced lies about engagements, either real or ficticious, concerning exchanges of gunfire, with persons who may or may not have been enemy combatants.
Real soldiers are much more honorable than that. A concept that seems to escape those like Harry Reid and Dick Durbin. Even those heros of the Viet Nam war, Tom Harkin, whom you know, flew missions over Viet Nam, and John F. Kerry, whom you know, went to Cambodia at Christmas time in 1967.
LBJ was President then.
When they find out that this all isn’t hurting Rush one iota, they’ll finally stop.
Funny that they’re wasting their money as their story falls apart. But Rush is right in saying the media really isn’t interested in the truth of the matter.
He speaks of a man who was thrown out of bootcamp and never served in Iraq, and is that mentioned anywhere in the story? Nope.
And the hypocrisy of undeniably-weaklings like Harry Reid pretending to be patriotic is just too much.
I’d like to see the military records of each of these “vets”. I’ll bet a number of them wouldn’t stand up to scrutiny.

My letter to the President.
Dear Mr. President,
I would like to send you a care package like the ones we got while we were in Iraq. A box mailed to you with things you may need along your journeys. But the mail is so slow and you wouldn’t have the time to open it up anyway I will just tell you what I would send you.
First off I would put in my Desert Combat Boots. I wore them a lot in Afghanistan and Iraq. They were comfortable and suited me well. I think that you could use them in case you ever wanted to walk through the desert and see firsthand the pain and suffering you have caused. I know that is unlikely so at least you can wear them on your trips to the western white house in texas. More stylish than cowboy boots and much more sensible.
Second I’d like to send you my purple heart. That way you can go to Iraq and come home just like most of the servicemen and women you sent over there. Tired confused and with a little medal to put on your mantle.
Third I would like to send back the photo that was taken when you presented me with said purple heart. You couldn’t even spell my name right on it so I hope that is a token to show how bad our intelligence is in the military. I wrote my name down on a piece of paper and you still spelled it wrong. And we wonder why the pre-war intel was so crappy.
And lastly I would like to send you my Bronze Star. Its not because you showed bravery under any circumstances but yet for the opposite reason. You can look at it and wonder what went wrong and why such a powerful “decider” is not the epitome of bravery for our troops.
I hope you like my package and can read all the big words I used in this letter.
Yours,
SSG Brian (not Bryan) McGough

From McGoughs website ‘broken skull’.
I’d say he’s got a thing for Jimmy Webb.....
Seems Rush is getting “Swift Boated.”
Hope it backfires!
Can't--I'm at work. If I start screaming at the monitor it might attract attention. Besides, I'm sure the content wouldn't be new to any conservative.
Bet it's from Soros the Hun.
I'd suspect the bulk of them fit into the "don't ask/don't tell" variety, too.....
Soros is BUYING the minds of this country (the susceptible ones, who can't understand what's happening and get their info from the MSM)
