Police in Norfolk, Va., are investigating whether an alleged attack against a 13-year-old boy that witnesses caught on tape Saturday was racially motivated, WAVY-TV reported Monday. The tape shows the victim, Damien O'Rourke, who is white, being violently beaten by a group of African American teenagers.

Where’s the NAACP? They should be condemning this instead of hiding under their desks.
How about felony assault and battery to start with?
They really need to change the laws to make an attack by more than one person equivalent to assault with a deadly weapon, whether the attackers are armed or not. When there is more than one attacker, each can use the other as a “weapon” in the sense that one can distract or restrain the victim while the other attacks. This makes the assault much more dangerous.
Mostly, all those terms exist to keep Liberal whites off-balance, so that it’s easier to play the White Guilt card. No matter which one a white uses, a black race warlord can proclaim use of the wrong currently-acceptable (to black race warlords) term.
One of the unmentionable facts of crime statistics, is that black on white crime is hugely out of proportion to white on black crime, on a percentage and absolute basis.
If you want to discuss this fact, you are immediately branded a “racist”, for asking tough questions about culture.
You figure out a way they could make some money condemning this, and they would be tripping all over themselves condemning the hell out of it.
The NAACP is a business. They don't do anything for free.
The press is just insane about the use of the term “alleged.”
The assault is actual, not alleged.
When an individual is charged, then it is appropriate to say that he/she is alleged to be the perp.
I notice, however, that they almost never refer to an “alleged rape.” Rapes are always assumed to have occurred unless proven otherwise. (And often assumed to have occurred even after that. Must “believe the victim,” don’t you know.)
No, it wasn’t racist, it was religious. They thought Damien was the Antichrist.
In one case the black captain of the basketball team came into the locker room saw two of the white (I’m white as well) wrestlers about to kick the $hit out of me. He informed them that if they laid a finger on me he would gather his friends and do to them what they were going to do to me, twice over.
That was a large part of my decision to mentor black kids.
Me thinks that background LAUGHING was Jessie Jackson and racist Al Sharpton.
The news just said it was the white kids friend. That just leaves too many questions....
Her attitude was so disgusting. I cannot imagine how the teen who was attacked feels right now watching Soledad and others talk like: "So what if the boy was beaten unconscious by six other guys. He's OK." I've been incredulous just watching the media shrug the victim off and bleed their hearts over the six thugs.

I think most people know that blacks are just as capable of violence motivated by race as whites - maybe even more.
My guess is that if you questioned Sharpton or pointy headed academics about the difference, they would say that historically blacks have suffered more under white oppression.
That gets them off the hook for having to address individual cases, like this one, where the blacks are being blatant racists.

“WVEC reported that the youth with the camera had been threatened at school for taping the assault.”
