Hijabbed security guard frisks nun (thanks to all who sent this in).
Of course there should be random searches, and no one should be exempt -- if any group is exempt, its dress will soon be adopted by the terrorists.
But there is an absurdity to this photo. And a hint that maybe we would do better devoting our resources to searching those who are more likely to be threats -- were that not so politically incorrect.
“Sorry but this almost looks like it was set up, American flag and all”
We have an American flag on the wall at our local airport.
“He ended up telling me that my airline had ‘selected’ me for ‘extra screening’”
He would be right. Call your airline and ask them why you were selected for “extra screening”.
“FReepers have any suggestions on how to avoid being felt up by this Mohammedan, that won’t result in missing my flight and ending up in a jail cell?”
Wear as little metal as possible. Don’t carry any liquids, gels, creams, pastes that are larger than 3.4 ounces in your carry on luggage.
That was my thought, also. Plus - how many nuns wear the full habit? I can't think of the last one I saw. (Of course, here in NE TX, there are none.)
Meanwhile back at the mosque, said Somali's Imam is delivering bloodcurdling Jihad Sermons. Meanwhile back at the ER, they're frequently attempting to save the lives of female circumcision victims. Diversity baby, ya gotta love it!
Note: anyone can dress anyway that they want. Random searches have to continue. However, there is one group that should be subjected to triple scrutiny, and it’s not blond Swedish grandmothers.
Booby, you are so right. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in the world. Probably only 5% of them are strapping on the semtex jockstrap at the moment, supported and facilitated by another 10%. So we only have to worry about 150 Million Muslims who want to kill us, or are willing to pay for it.
What a relief. I thought it was a serious problem.
Good grief. I'm flying into Columbus next month - thanks for the warning!
What the bloody effing hell does the TSA think its doing having muzzies be security guards at airports? After 9/11, that’s like having a fox guard the hen house! In-friggin-credible!!!!!!!!!!
It does have that air to it but again it looks like it came in from Robert Spencer's JihadWatch which has been a generally good source.
Looks like a job for the pajamuhajadeen!
I can't vouch for the picture, but I was checked by one at Dulles back in August. She wasn't TSA...it was some sort of pre-screen. She barely spoke English.
BTW, what do you suppose would be the reaction and coverage were a Muslim to be searched by a Hasidic Jew in full religious dress?
Again, the law of probability.
Right, 'cuz who in the world would believe that there are wheel chairs in airports?
Also, don't talk the all mighty TSA or engage them in anyway. Keep your eyes straight forward and comply with every demand, no matter how rudely you are commanded.....
Some things are just a little too perfect.
When was the last time you saw an airport security set up that wasn’t packed to the gills with stressed travellers?
Only four people in the photo, no distractions in the picture? Check.
Security readily identifiable as møøselimb? Check.
Nun in a penguin suit? Check.
US Flag? Check.
Wheelchair? Check.
Staged, IMHO. YMMV...
I was.
You're the liar, officer.

Ditto, but from Bermuda in the Spring of '06. I received the attentions of a female guard, who asked me to step to the side, right next to everyone who was scheduled to board. I was subjected to a rather thorough "pat down" of my upper body while everyone watched. It was very strange, since I was only wearing a tee shirt and capris.
Detroit....according to captions at other websites.
I can understand the reasoning but come on how many Hijabbed security guards have you seen at your local airports??
One of them checked my wife and myself just last week at Detroit Airport.
