..Hunter has about this many chances left

Don't read too much into tonight--an election cycle or two ago, the winner would have been Gary Bauer--this group is just as vulnerable to a good line of political bull as anyone else--I know of what I speak...

Thanks for the information - I hadn’t heard most of those allegations about Huckabee before. I will definately have to look into that.

Hunter did great, as always. Not sure what these people were looking for, but apparently they found it in Huckster and Paul and Keyes. Yikes.

Huckabee is disturbing. But what’s this with Rep. Paul getting the second amount of votes? From the Value Voters? A pleasant surprise. And the Straussian representative, Alan Carpetbagger Keyes, only got 24. Guess his message isn’t as popular as he thinks it is.

Don't read too much into tonight

But so many of Duncans supporters believe it was important. Were they wrong?

Duncan could have set himself apart from the field or at least given Huckabee a good run for the limelight. He didn't and for the life of me I don't understand why that is happening.

He gets these opportunities and looks like a wallflower compared to the fervor he showed at the Gathering of Eagles.

Had to get that in. Nite all.

I still think that tonight was important - Duncan Hunter can still recover in the next debate but it was a missed opportunity. Overall, I would say that the biggest winner tonight was definately Governor Huckabee and the biggest loser was Fred Thompson who I think is about to find himself losing most of his social conservative support to Mike Huckabee.

Huck got the votes either because he’s recognized as a governor or a former minister....like somehow that gives him more credibility.

Some do have a fascination with governors....even if he was a lousy governor.

Missed the whole debate and the debate debate. Other than the straw vote, how did Hunter do?

Huckabee = an ordained Rev. John Edwards who is adamantly pro life.

Hunter did very well. Not enough emotional nonsense to carry the straw poll though for these folks.

I wonder if the voters know that Huckabee didn’t think that Congress should have tried to save Terri Schiavo’s life.

I don’t know if Terri Schiavo came up or not, because I couldn’t get the debate.

Hunter was impressive as always...I’ll clip his parts out and have you pinged when it’s up. He smacked Paul for his “blame America” stance again.

He did ok but it wasn’t his strongest debate performance. He had one real high point where he slapped down Ron Paul for his “Blame America First” rhetoric. However, he seemed to stumble more than usual and wasn’t at the top of his game tonight.
