Candidates participating
“I dont agree that the top four candidates are wimps for not showing up; it was really all or none - if only one of the top tier candidates did show up, he would automatically, unfortunately, be subconsciously grouped with these (statistically speaking) losers. Thats just the way the game works today.”
I’m afraid that Fred had a chance to show he was better than Rudy McRomney, and he chose to join them and the Dems.
“It is up tp Congress to determine the manner in which it declares war.
Congress did so in the much discussed War Resolution that Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, and John Kerry all voted in favor of.”
from Henry Hyde to Alberto Gonzalez, they have said that this is not a declared war, Alberto in Testimony before Congress and Hyde in speaking with Ron Paul.
Think
Libs are sometimes misconstrued. Libertarians believe in liberty, but the inference here about marriage, homo and drugs is never addressed in the constitution, ... soon we set the stage to write laws which prevent us from going to church, (my paraphrase, he really talks fast), medical pot, cancer patients, prohibition, drug addiction is a med problem , not a law problem
Dr. Paul gives the libertarian answer on the war on drugs and prostitution. He doesn’t pander to the crowd. Great answer.
Q to Ron Paul on libertarians ideas, specifically homosexuality, prostitution, drugs.
No constitional authority to deal with those issues. Total failure on war on drugs. Arresting those using medical marijuana. Gives federal gov’t too much control. Abuse/addition is a medical problem, not a problem of the law
“And the best of luck getting the electorate to agree to a 30% sales tax (paying $1.30 for every $1.00 you spend).”
My husband was saying that he would like to receive his ENTIRE CHECK each week, rather than the govt. taking out a chunk of it first. Lots of folks feel that way.
Rich people would pay more taxes, because they buy airplanes, yachts, more expensive autos, clothes, etc.
And unscrupulous politicians, like Clinton, wouldn’t be able to audit their enemies. :)
We agree in principle. We both believe killing a healthy baby is murder. Who wouldn't? With Terry Schiavo, you have someone who God intended to die and Gubmint kept her alive.
I have never been a supporter of the UN, I took stands under Ronald Regan against the UN. I can't fault the original founders of the UN for trying to stop global wars, but I can fault the current memebers for standing against God... ect. Begin sermon from Keyes.

As much as I disagree with Rep. Paul on other issues, I think he has the right idea here.
I know a lot of people are pro-life, but even murder in most instances is a state crime, not federal. I think the people in the individual states are perfectly competent in choosing the right morals (see 2004’s gay marriage bans across the states). If I’m not mistaken, this is the type of position Sen. Thompson holds as well.
Keyes on a rant. Hunter looks on in amusement/slight reverence.
Q to Keyes: Are you a supporter of the United Nations? Is the U.S. served by participation in the UN?
Keyes championed under Reagan to counter United Nations policies. He represented the US, not the UN. Keyes alleged support of the UN is a lie. We cannot allow turning our sovereignty of the United States to the UN. Goes after Obama Barrack.
That concludes Round 3.
Four minutes to each candidate now. Huckabee gets good line about having time to do an offering. :-)
You may not like Alan Keyes ‘delivery’, but surely you can’t fault his answers!
Because he didn't attend this debate? Seems kind of a flimsy reason, if you agree, politically with him.
TehRon attracts moonbats like dung attracts flies.
The natural progression of Terri to her death was interrupted by human intervention.
Of course, it's not.
Would you rather this country's armed forces continue to be the world's police force, wherever we're needed? Sooner or later, the bills come due, and we will have to pay, pay, pay.
I suspect your statement is out of ignorance, not malice, since very few on FreeRepublic really know anything about Ron Paul other than he's been against the Iraq War since before it began. Suggested reading: A Foreign Policy of Freedom, a collection of Congressman Paul's speeches since 1976. You will discover that his anti-Iraq-war stance is based on many years of observing -- skeptically -- foreign policy mistakes that have made the United States less free and more a target for malcontents. As a reviewer wrote, "This foreign policy, Congressman Paul has pointed out, is contrary to American ideals, diminishes American liberty, and ends up making worse the very problems it seeks to alleviate."
