Sunday, September 16th, 2007
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Defense Secretary Robert Gates; Gen. David Petraeus; Sen. Joseph Biden, D-Del.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and John McCain, R-Ariz.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Carl Levin, D-Mich.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Defense Secretary Robert Gates; Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Retired Gen. Wesley Clark; Sens. Evan Bayh, D-Ind., John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Christopher Dodd, D-Conn.; Reps. Tom Lantos, D-Calif., and Mike Pence, R-Ind.
Watching Steffi, who can’t lay a glove on Secretary Gates.
Steffi plays soundbites of Sen Clinton and of Sen Reed. I guess that should be called contributions in kind to their campaigns.
Schieffer declares the war unwinnable but at least admits that us leaving could cause problems... then brings up the Iranian perspective.
The last couple of questions have been pretty good, surprisingly.
Levin says that a diplomatic resolution will do the trick. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Ahmedinejad and his minions will surely be deterred by a piece of paper.
The Dinosaur Press is the Audio version of the DNC website.

John Kyl now on FTN. Schieffer now brings out the quote barrage.
Oh dear do you know what happened and is it OK now.
Sheesh, as Ingraham would say, Schieffer is being quite the “but monkey” right now.
I simply cannot believe Juan Williams today. Downright untruthful. I have thought in the past that he was merely easily confused. Now I think he is a liar.
I really am disappointed. I did not think he was a bad person.
I am very glad that Brit did not allow his false statements to stand.
Just detected a new phrase on steffi’s show: “former Army Ranger Senator Jack Reed”.
Methinks this will become all one word whenever Reed is on air discussing quitting Iraq.
Kyl duly notes that the lower levels of Iraqi government seem to be working very well. He’s holding his own very well; says that a long-term presence in Iraq is actually in America’s best interest.
Yes, snugs. Something, a stray eyelash perhaps, got firmly lodged and it took all night for it to work its way out. I am fine, and I thank you for your concern.
Early on the morning of Nov.16, on a routine combat mission Capt David Anderson flew under the call sign of Hound72.next to flight leader Sweeney....
"By the time we arrived on station the Army platoon that needed support had been in continuous contact with the enemy for 40 hours," said Anderson...
"We were flying at 12,000 feet when our radios exploded with the sound of Brewmaster 46(on the ground fighting) screaming that they (Army ground troops) were under attack...and pinned down
" Anderson executed a 4th low pass of the target area in an attempt to gain sight of the enemy. Flying over the target area at 300 feet at 500 knots, he was able to catch sight of both US troops and insurgents just meters apart."...
..."In three successive strafe passes,I fired all 510 rounds in my gun, silencing the enemy positions.
Brewmaster 46 said in later conversations he was so close to the enemy that as my high explosive 20 MM rounds impacted, he was showered by dirt and debris."...
Six enemy were killed just before they set up a 60 MM mortar with 8 rounds to fire at our guys... The distinguished flying cross was awarded to pilot David Anderson...
That was great! Rush played that clip Thursday or Friday....
It was,no question.
The sad result of a lack of testosterone on the part of them... though I wonder about Hillary's levels.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Edwards, who has pandered specifically to these types of special interest groups, actually supports the Petraeus ad and for the sake of “truth in advertising,” instead sent out his wife to denounce it so that he can say “well, I don’t speak for my wife when she says that sort of thing.”
Way to go HC!! Great job!!
Tom Ricks of the Post up on FTN.
I may have to switch over to TW, I’m not sure I’ll be able to last through all the hot air...
