Too bad they didn’t just wound him. He has possible ties to Muslim extremists. His half-brother killed a bunch of white people in the Virgin Islands and hijacked an airliner to Cuba. That man is now an Islamist radical.

Here's a second report - FlAttorney

Police Capture, Kill Cop Killer Suspect LaBeet
CBS, Channel 4 Miami
Sep 14, 2007 12:56 am US/Eastern
http://cbs4.com/topstories/local_story_257003200.html

(CBS4) PEMBROKE PINES In an apartment building in Pembroke Pines, the chase for accused cop killer Sean LaBeet ended late Thursday in a second confrontation with Miami-Dade police officers. The first confrontation ended in the death of a police officer. The second ended in his death, after police say he opened fire when they tried to arrest him. CBS4 sources say the end came at an apartment complex at 305 SW 83rd Avenue Pembroke Pines, following a search for LaBeet that started early Thursday afternoon.

"We Got Him", one police source told CBS4 News. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez, who once headed the Miami-Dade police Department, detailed how LaBeet was captured. "The confronted him. There was an exchange of gunfire. The subject was shot and killed," Alvarez said. Miami-Dade's SWAT team attempted to make the arrest, assisted by the Pembroke Pines police department. Alvarez said LaBeet was armed and had an extra clip when he confronted police.

At first, investigators incorrectly identified the suspected shooter as 30-year-old Kevin Wehner. But Miami-Dade Commander Linda O’Brien said Wehner is actually hundreds of miles away in the Jacksonville area and is not involved in the shootings in Cutler Bay. ''It appears we have been misled about (the suspect's) initial identity,'' Miami-Dade's O'Brien said. She said she was glad Wehner stepped forward quickly. “It appears LaBeet had obtained his ID.'' Immediately after the shooting, police say LaBeet got back in his car and sped off heading down the Turnpike. What is believed to be LaBeet's vehicle, a white Honda Accord with a black hood, was located in the area of SW 203rd Street and 129th Avenue on a small road lining the bank of Black Creek Canal, however, it was empty. The front windshield of the vehicle was smashed.

By mid-afternoon, Miami-Dade police Commander Linda O'Brien said Shawn LaBeet was believed to be driving a Black 2007 Pontiac Vibe with the Florida tag W59EPT. That car was found in a parking lot at a Target store in Oakland Park, at Oakland Park Boulevard and Federal Highway, shortly before 4:30 pm Thursday. When the car was found, it was discovered the Pontiac was rented out to LaBeet's brother, Shane LaBeet. The women and children who were found at the car are Shane's girlfriend and children. Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez told reporters Thursday night that police had been deceived by LaBeet's girlfriend, who intentionally misled them about his identity. She was being questioned by police Thursday night, before police located LaBeet in Broward County and attempted to arrest him

In addition to my previous post, this is from Wikipedia:

The city’s expansion was a major effect of Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Thousands of southern Miami-Dade County residents moved northward to Broward County, many to Pembroke Pines. The population greatly increased as former owners of destroyed homes spent their insurance money on an inland city.

The resulting boom ranked the City of Pembroke Pines third in a list of Fastest Growing Cities in the United States in 1999.[2] Over the years, the sudden and unplanned overpopulation has caused problems, especially in schools. In 2003, Charles W. Flanagan High School had close to 6,000 students, making it the most populated high school in Florida. In response to Broward County's inability to keep up with demands, Mayor Alex Fekete and City Manager Charles Dodge started a Charter School System. As of 2006, Pembroke Pines had the largest Charter School System in the county. The city is also home to a campuses for Broward Community College and Florida International University. The city's population has grown from (1990 pop. 65,452) to an estimated 2005 population of 148,000.

Here’s my made up quote from his mom, which I base on every other one I’ve heard from similar scumbags. “My baby never did nothing to deserve this. He didn’t need to die.” Print it. It’s along the same line of thinking as “Nobody judges me but God.” Well, He just did.

Shawn Sherwin LaBeet, is the half-brother of a notorious mass murderer and fugitive from justice, Ishmael LaBeet, who was implicated in eight slayings at a St. Croix resort in 1973, a crime known in the Virgin Islands as the Fountain Valley Massacre.

In 1972 when Ishmael LaBeet and four associates killed eight people at a St. Croix resort, Carambola. The five — all dressed in fatigues — sprang out of the bushes at the Rockefeller-owned Fountain Valley golf course in St. Croix and sprayed the dining area with bullets.

In the 1972 massacre, the attackers rounded up 15 people, four Miami residents were among them. Eight were ordered to kneel in a circle and systematically shot to death with a shotgun and .45-caliber and 9mm pistols. The four from Miami, two couples vacationing together, were among the dead.

The five black robbers, who had screamed racial, anti-white insults during the massacre, according to witnesses, then fled with $731 from the cash register and the personal effects of the dead.

Thirteen years later, on New Year’s Eve, 1985, Ishmael LaBeet (Shawn Sherwin LaBeet’s half-brother) overpowered guards from the Virgin Islands Department of Corrections who were escorting him on a flight from St. Croix to New York.

Ishmael LaBeet forced the American Airlines flight with 198 people aboard to divert to Havana, Cuba, where he was taken off the plane by Cuban authorities. The plane later made the flight to New York with the rest of the passengers.

Ishmael LaBeet remains a fugitive, and his crime still resonates with locals to this day.

Here in Florida we’ve had a rash of attacks on police officers.
Glad to see this perp was killed instead of turning his sorry butt over to the legal system.

Very strange case with very strange connections.

The “girlfriend” who misled the police, btw, was actually the girlfriend of another LaBeet half-brother, Shane. There are apparently LaBeets scattered all over the place - I don’t know if Daddy LaBeet is still alive and procreating or if he has been removed from the gene pool at last. The LaBeet in Cuba is at least 20 years older than his cop-killer half brother, Shawn LaBeet, so Daddy LaBeet had way too long a run as it was!

Let us know if they release any more information on this.
