The man suspected of killing one Miami-Dade cop and wounding three others Thursday morning in a shootout in south Miami-Dade was cornered and shot dead in a Pembroke Pines apartment complex sometime before midnight, a law enforcement source told The Miami Herald. Miami-Dade police would not confirm the information about suspect Shawn Sherwin LaBeet, but scheduled a news conference for 12:30 a.m. at its headquarters in Doral. After receiving a tip Thursday evening that LaBeet was hiding in an apartment complex in Pembroke Pines, Miami-Dade sent its SWAT team, the source told The Herald.
Why, do you know her? Is she a good Christian woman? Maybe she and her religion is why her son is dead. Save your tears for our boys.
No activist judge will be able to stop his execution.
I wonder how far this gang/? will be followed in the news ?
JMHO : This mite be a “tip of the iceberg” for the LEOs of that area...
That*s very good news! It saves the family of the LEO who was killed and those who were wounded from having to sit through a painful trial. It gives the LEO brotherhood swift and final Justice!
The citys expansion was a major effect of Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Thousands of southern Miami-Dade County residents moved northward to Broward County, many to Pembroke Pines. The population greatly increased as former owners of destroyed homes spent their insurance money on an inland city.
The resulting boom ranked the City of Pembroke Pines third in a list of Fastest Growing Cities in the United States in 1999.[2] Over the years, the sudden and unplanned overpopulation has caused problems, especially in schools. In 2003, Charles W. Flanagan High School had close to 6,000 students, making it the most populated high school in Florida. In response to Broward County's inability to keep up with demands, Mayor Alex Fekete and City Manager Charles Dodge started a Charter School System. As of 2006, Pembroke Pines had the largest Charter School System in the county. The city is also home to a campuses for Broward Community College and Florida International University. The city's population has grown from (1990 pop. 65,452) to an estimated 2005 population of 148,000.

Tell you what, we have a bunch of excited people down here, including the police chief, that they nailed this SOB. His half-brother has never been brought to justice >> Shawn LaBeet is the half-brother of notorious mass murderer and fugitive from justice Ishmael LaBeet, who was implicated in eight execution style slayings at a St. Croix resort in 1972, a crime known in the Virgin Islands as the Fountain Valley Massacre << The police apprehended Ishmael once but he escaped, and they have never found him again.
Here’s my made up quote from his mom, which I base on every other one I’ve heard from similar scumbags. “My baby never did nothing to deserve this. He didn’t need to die.” Print it. It’s along the same line of thinking as “Nobody judges me but God.” Well, He just did.
probably the same cell as connected with the JFK airport plot...
I'm sure that all the LEOs around the country are happy that he was shot dead by the LEOs who were looking for him. I know I'm pretty happy about it.
It's too bad they didn't catch Ishmael. What a couple of scum bags they are/were. Ishmael is a Muslim name. Do you know if they were Muslims?
No one who shoots it out with the cops should EVER leave alive!

The citys expansion was a major effect of Hurricane Andrew in 1992.Was stationed at Homestead AFB for Andrew... was awful... shame many of the people moved up into Broward county.... it was known by most, if not all, of the military personnel to be VERY liberal, and to avoid it if possible... MJ
Shawn Sherwin LaBeet, is the half-brother of a notorious mass murderer and fugitive from justice, Ishmael LaBeet, who was implicated in eight slayings at a St. Croix resort in 1973, a crime known in the Virgin Islands as the Fountain Valley Massacre.
In 1972 when Ishmael LaBeet and four associates killed eight people at a St. Croix resort, Carambola. The five all dressed in fatigues sprang out of the bushes at the Rockefeller-owned Fountain Valley golf course in St. Croix and sprayed the dining area with bullets.
In the 1972 massacre, the attackers rounded up 15 people, four Miami residents were among them. Eight were ordered to kneel in a circle and systematically shot to death with a shotgun and .45-caliber and 9mm pistols. The four from Miami, two couples vacationing together, were among the dead.
The five black robbers, who had screamed racial, anti-white insults during the massacre, according to witnesses, then fled with $731 from the cash register and the personal effects of the dead.
Thirteen years later, on New Years Eve, 1985, Ishmael LaBeet (Shawn Sherwin LaBeets half-brother) overpowered guards from the Virgin Islands Department of Corrections who were escorting him on a flight from St. Croix to New York.
Ishmael LaBeet forced the American Airlines flight with 198 people aboard to divert to Havana, Cuba, where he was taken off the plane by Cuban authorities. The plane later made the flight to New York with the rest of the passengers.
Ishmael LaBeet remains a fugitive, and his crime still resonates with locals to this day.
Al and Jesse will say he was executed.
Here in Florida we’ve had a rash of attacks on police officers.
Glad to see this perp was killed instead of turning his sorry butt over to the legal system.
” Glad to see this perp was killed instead of turning his sorry butt over to the legal system “
I guess if he couldn’t be ‘disappeared’ to, say, a ‘secret CIA prison in Poland’, this is the best alternative.....
I’m glad he’s dead, but there’s a lot of unanswered questions — and possibly a lost chance at intel.....
This gal needs to have the book thrown at her.
I'm sure the SWAT bubbas were praying LaIdiot would raise his weapon or take a shot at them. Suicide by Cop is becoming more common theses days.
Thoughts and prayers for our Police and all Emergency Service personnel.
One less bag of crap polluting the planet.
