Looks like a good movie with lots of high energy action - but what is with the much later than 10,000BC set design? The buildings look more like something from accent Mesopotamia or Egypt? Aren’t Cave people suppose to live in Caves? And where is the hot girls in fur bikinis? Whats up with that?
But when its the same folks that made “The Day after Tomorrow” I wouldn’t expect accuracy.

I would think it should be the other way around, civilization finds cave people.

According to the synopsis, the “cave people” set out on a journey, and come across the civilization after a perilous trek across a desert.........

even worse, it seems primitive cave people find a politically correct lost civilization.

Just from the few ‘facts’ that seem available, this is more of a ‘pop corn movie’ than 1,000,000 B.C.. Just be gad that, as of now, it is still called ‘B.C.’ not the PC version ‘B.C.E.’
No body lived in caves much after the glaciers receeded.
The Sahara Desert was a Savannah up until 9000 BC.
The only desert in the area of Europe - Africa was, it is thought, the bottom of the current Mediterranean Sea,
there was no high civilization BEFORE the Ice Ages!
The animals of the Pleistocene (Mammoths, Sabre Toothed Cats), were extinct long before 10,000 BC
I could go on, but what’s the point. It is a fantasy, enjoy it (or not) at its own level.
