The Birth of al Qaedastan

In the year 2016, the world may find itself gloomily marking September 6 as the tenth anniversary of the creation of the Islamic Emirate of Waziristan. The Emirate received de facto recognition when the Taliban used the name on the ceasefire agreement they signed with Pakistan on that day in 2006. If things go terribly wrong in the coming decade, they could come to rule a mountainous fragment of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The Emirate would be a nightmare state: Osama bin Laden as sultan, Ayman al Zawahiri as vizier, and Mullah Omar the spiritual leader. An economy built on smuggling and heroin. Primary export: terrorism. Welcome to ‘Al Qaedastan’.

Analysts say the rise of a terrorist state straddling the rugged area between Pakistan and Afghanistan is now viable. The reason is a number of troubling trends. One, the revival of a Taliban firmly in the control of Al Qaeda. Two, the seeming inability of either Kabul or Islamabad to defeat the new threat militarily. It appears to me that those blinking lights are appearing over the spinning globes of the world, and there are vertical lines crossing that whole side.

A jury at the trial of a student facing terror charges has been shown video of a US citizen being beheaded.
The High Court in Glasgow heard the footage of Paul Johnson, 49, was posted on the website of Islamic terror expert Evan Kohlmann.

He has been giving evidence at the trial of 21-year-old {{{Mohammed Atif Siddique,}}} from Alva, Clackmannanshire.

Mr Kohlmann denied a suggestion that the videos were worse than those Mr Siddique was said to have stored.

I don't believe many people including a lot of freepers realize how many things GWB and his administration are having to take into consideration.
There are a lot of very complicated things that must be fully analyzed and programs put in place to keep things from getting out of hand during the next ten to twenty years.
This is all very serious *hit. He makes very terse generic public statements and sometimes must be viewed as not doing much of anything. But within the many Intel Agencies, many things are being worked on and worked out so that we can if possible alter the near future, to keep Islam from gaining an upper edge on the world scene.

Christians have been left outraged by the death of a young woman in Eritrea, allegedly tortured to death in a military facility for refusing to renounce her faith in Jesus Christ, Open Doors has reported.

Migsti Haile, 33, died 5 September, at the Weaa Military Training Centre, and is the fourth Christian known to have been killed this way in the past year.

Open Doors, a Christian persecution and human rights watchdog, said Haile was tortured for refusing to “sign a letter recanting her faith”.

It is believed she spent 18 months in prison “under severe pressure” since she and nine other single Christian women were arrested at a church gathering in Keren.

The latest news of persecution will further increase international pressure for the Eritrean Government to take action to guarantee religious freedom.

At least 2,000, mostly Christian evangelicals, are detained in Eritrean prisons, police stations, military camps and other facilities, including even shipping containers, according to a number of human rights groups, however, the Eritrean Government has denied any such abuses.”

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The US has issued Eritrea with its strongest warning yet over its alleged support for terrorism.

A senior US official said the presence of an exiled Somali Islamist leader in Asmara this week was further evidence Eritrea gave sanctuary to terrorists.

The gathering of further intelligence could lead to Eritrea being named as a state sponsor of terrorism - followed by sanctions, the official said.

The Eritrean government has accused the US of deliberate distortion.”
