Conservatives DUMP Senator Larry Craig, for sticking fingers under a bathroom stall wall.

Posted on 08/30/2007 7:50:09 PM PDT by pacificus

I read the transcript of the Larry Graig interview with the Minnesota police.

I don't like what I'm hearing from other conservatives. The liberals see a cheap Senate seat and you want to give it to them because a guy moved two fingers under the stall wall in an airport bathroom.

If they had the guy on tape asking for sex, paying for sex, or photographed in the act, or any other physical proof, then I would say that looks very very bad and he should go.

But that is not the case.

This is very lame, and those of you who have never had a disagreement with a law enforecement officer should hope that a cop never accuses you of something. Because by your own action, your professional career, and or political career, should be forit, merely on the word of the officer with no physical proof or corroborating evidence.

Those of you who pass judgement, on Larry Craig, merely on the heresay and liberal spin that has been run in the press, should be ashamed.

I think the guy's a fag.

And he also did not challenge it. So it looks bad.

On the other hand, I think at least the arresting officer(s)y should have waited until he was actually, clearly, irretrevably "in the act" if they really want to bust people on specific charges that cannot be denied due to he said-he said. It sounds so juvenile after all.

What next, we make every GOP Senator suspected of having perverted sex lives resign as well?

If you've got a list, we can check 'em out, and kick out the perv's. Being a Catholic I am not anxious for the GOP to get the same rep. as Catholic priests.

He pled guilty

Not to lewdness.

Don't you know that yet?

There’s not a Judge or jury that would convict him on this evidence.

You can try to minimize what Craig did if you want.

I am wondering if you ever try to play footsy with the guy in the next stall in public restrooms. I sure don’t and I figure that a guy who does just ain’t right.

If he is United States Senator he ought to himself and all of us a favor and quit and go get some help.

The knee jerk reaction of conservatives because of one cop's testimony AND just in time for a large fund-raising scandal to be knocked out of the headlines should make all conservatives suspicious.

Instead, there's a full-scale rush for the Senator's head. Sick.

Or it could just be a classic case of chickens coming home to roost.

Understand that most of these guys do this kind of stuff thinking that they're never going to get caught, or thinking that their preferred status is going to afford them special consideration.

If Senator Craig was attempting to solicit sex in a men's room, HE'S to blame for the mess he's in, and where, when or how the information is released is irrelevant.

The purpose of these stings is not throw these pervs in jail, it is to stop the lewd behavior in the public bathrooms. Why did the good Senator go out of his way to this particular bathroom, passing through security checks unless he knew it was a known cruising zone?

13 minutes? That is nonsense. IT was 2.

I read it was thirteen minutes but can't find the source now so I'll concede the point to you. But, are you saying that it's alright for a man to spend 2 minutes peeking through the crack at another man sitting on the toilet?

So I am supposed to guess what was said? I asked for your citation. You sounded like you were quoting verbatim since you place quotation marks around the statement, so I wanted to know where you got it from.

I do believe that accurate quotes should be used when convicting a man.

I GAVE YOU the reference in post #231:

A police report said Craig, R-Idaho, gave the arresting officer his Senate business card and asked, ``What do you think about that?''

The article quotes the actual police report. It's possible the article writer just made it up, but HIGHLY unlikely.

By the way I'm not convicting anyone, I'm supporting and building my opinion that he's a pathetic pervert and trying to show that the opinions of those attempting to defend him are flawed at best.

You said he was not a crook. He pled guilty to a crime. Therefore he is a crook. In the post you cited, I did not say what he pled guilty to, nor does it matter much.

>> He pled guilty. <<

So did Jesus Christ and Socrates. Their "crimes" turned out to be a bunch of hot air as well.

LC: You solicited me.

So, I’ll ask you again - How did Larry know just from homo feet signals that he was being solicited? Dude, game over. Give it up.

Craig knew what he was doing.

Please don't compare Larry Craig to those two.

Larry Craig is a perv.

Yes, but their mugshots didn’t show them having getting their eyebrows plucked, shaved and died black on the same day they were arrested for their ‘crimes’.

Gosh, I thought I was the only freeper out here who felt this way. I am very skeptical about this BIG story.

I happen to think there is going to be a lot more stories like this before the next Presidential election.

Again, I ask — Whatever happened to that really BIG story about the D.C Madam? The one where a Republican was featured? Were there any Democrats who used her services? And why hasn’t that BIG story been heard of again?

What about all those FBI files Bill and Hillary had at their disposal during the Clinton impeachment process? You know, the ones that brought out a 20 year-old affair Henry Hyde had?

If Craig was soliciting gay bathroom sex at an airport I would be the first to say “burn him,” and I don’t doubt most of the “little kings” sent to Congress don’t come to believe they are above the law.

But I am VERY skeptical about the timing of this, and want to know more about why this story is coming out now. Who is this undercover cop? Why did he mention in the tapes released he voted for Craig? I want to see the Idaho “Statesman” story, and more about their sources, before I try and convict this man.

I suspect you’ll see a lot more of this sensational stuff before the election.

Oh come on. This is not about his sexual preference per se, but about cruising in a public restroom, which is illegal.

Craig committed a crime and conducted himself in a manner that brought disrepute to the Senate. He needs to go. Immediately, if not sooner.

If Senator Craig was attempting to solicit sex in a men's room

The key word is "if".

We don't know...and yet thousands of people are wanting his head.

That's why I call it a knee-jerk reaction.
