Nearly 30 people swarmed a Mesa convenience store at Alma School and 8th Street late Friday, stealing about 15 beer cases, chips, sports drinks, gum and candy.
The Mesa Police Department said this is the second time in less than two weeks that this type of group shoplifting crime has occurred.

Back in my day, we called this “looting”.
Back in my day, it was called “stealing.”

Bring out the semi auto shotguns with seven in line. That will teach em.
System D
That sounds more like looting than shoplifting.
I wonder why are they not showing the surveillance tape? Are they hiding something?
This shows why a revolver is a poor choice for home/business defense. Assuming doubletaps/misses requiring two shots per target, you’re looking at NINE speedloaders to be able to deal with all the “customers”. Good luck.
With a semiauto like a 17 round Browning High Power, you’re looking at only three extra magazines - which is about what I have to hand anyway.
Assuming the mob (because that’s what this is) has the usual “run away” break point of about 50% (you shoot a max of 50%, the rest flee or surrender) that’s even better - one reload for the semiauto is all that’s needed.

I haven’t seen that many red X boxes since I wqorked on B-52s way back in the 1960’s.
Better the bad guys worry about the police than vice versa.
This criminal activity is called a “swarm.”

Above URL is for a 40 round Magazine for 1911 .45.
Too big for practical use in a pistol.
I’ve got a 50 round stick for a BHP. Totally impractical, but it’s fun to freak out libs at the range with.
I was in a liquor store in Seligman, MO a couple years back while one of these “swarms” was taking place. Very well organized, obviously well-rehearsed. The people came into the parking lot in several different cars, all filled up with gas, all wearing long coats, all running everywhere in the store, all left at the same time. Quite a sight to see...BTW, they were all Hispanic.
I prefer a 12 guage.
And to that end, may I suggest the Saiga-12? Now available with 20 round drums.
In my neighborhood, a mob would be on the losing end due to the expertise of my younger neighbors who regularly like to play on weekends with their .50 BMGs.
So the mobs are now doing the crimes, it had to come.
