Here is the topic for an attempt at serious discourse: Who Was The Last Hollywood Conservative?
Ronald Reagan: Left Hollywood for the political arena;
John Wayne: Passed away in the 70's before Reagan was elected to the Presidency, still making films up to his death;
Charlton Heston: Was still working in the 1990's before Alzheimer's took him;
Please, discuss this with me and, if you can, add to the list?

I cannot confidently say there are many conservatives in any motion pitcure or visual media anymore - it seems the new "casting couch" involves making a public statement of "George Bush Is An Idiot", or some formula to that effect, if one wants to work in the industry.
Discuss?

Jimmy Stewart (born here in my hometown), died in the 1990’s - can’t remember exact year. Was a true conservative.

Gerald McRaney, originally of “Simon & Simon.”
Maybe Bruce Willis.

Being conservative in "Hollyweird" is the new "gay." You stay in the closet. Outward exhibition of conservatism is a career-limiting move.
There are the Patricia Heatons and Chuck Norrises, but they are relegated to bit parts. They became famous and likable before their political persuasion was known or cared about. Clint Eastwood is conservative, but he's an aging dinosaur.
I suspect that there are probably many more "in the clost" conservatives, but they just keep their heads down, and don't say much. They avoid political confrontations whenever possible, but as you suggested, only after making the grade on the "casting couch" does an actor get the big roles.

Kelsey Grammer is the most prominent currently, although I think he might be more libertarian. Also, there’s Patricia Heaton, although she’s more of a single-issue person.

Chuck Norris doesn’t have to be conservative. He’s Chuck Norris.

Heston was active until about 5 years ago. He attended CPAC quite a few times.
I got to meet him in an elevator once.
The doors of the elevator open and there he was standing there tall and tan.

There are probably at least a couple of dozen conservatives in the biz but they are kept in the closet by hollywood’s opressive You-Must-Be-A-Flaming-Liberal policy. But of course liberals are tolerant of everyone’s views (making that swirling motion around my ear with index finger and saying coo-coo, coo-coo!).

“Bo Derek is a conservative”
and someone who is comfortable in her own skin.
Other good folks were/are Martha Raye, Delta Burke, Art Linkletter, Walter Brennen (hardcore conservative), and let’s not forget Bob Hope.
