Heston was active until about 5 years ago. He attended CPAC quite a few times.
I got to meet him in an elevator once.
The doors of the elevator open and there he was standing there tall and tan.

I sat behind Charlton Heston at the Cinerama Dome and watched Top Gun. That was a treat I will never forget. What a distinguished gentleman.
