Being conservative in "Hollyweird" is the new "gay." You stay in the closet. Outward exhibition of conservatism is a career-limiting move.

There are the Patricia Heatons and Chuck Norrises, but they are relegated to bit parts. They became famous and likable before their political persuasion was known or cared about. Clint Eastwood is conservative, but he's an aging dinosaur.

I suspect that there are probably many more "in the clost" conservatives, but they just keep their heads down, and don't say much. They avoid political confrontations whenever possible, but as you suggested, only after making the grade on the "casting couch" does an actor get the big roles.

Clint Eastwood a dinosaur? Yeah, the red-meat eatin’ kind!

Sorry, Clint (and I do love his old movies)is NO conservative, he is libertarian but in Hollywood, the real dividing line, as in much of the country, consists of a belief in God and a position of pro-life, of which there are actually a few and growing in numbers though not the "top box office stars."

Those unfortunates are usually the semi-brain dead cult members.

Totally utterly agree with you.

People like Norris, Grammer, and Eastwood had their careers established before the Left truly came to power in the 90’s. They could afford to take the casting couch hit.

The rest of today’s celebrities - a word I now use as a perjorative - still have to wear their Party cards in their left breast pocket (over their hearts, like good Socialist men and women) and present their papers on demand.

Just an FYI. Patricia Heaton and Kelsey Grammer are co-starring in a new television series this fall. I hope it's funny and well-written. There's not much on the tube I'd waste my time watching anymore.
