Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....
http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862
I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org
.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter
Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.
I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

I at one time supported Paul...I live right next to his district and have known him for many yrs. Until he started appearing on complete moonbat programs. It shocked me completely. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing coming from him. He lost me then because I saw something I had not known was part of his psyche...and it scared me. This man DOES NOT BELONG IN THE WH.
I will take that to be a “no,” and I agree with your analysis. There’s always a few wackos in any campaign who make folks shake their heads in wonder at the stupidity.
I don’t know how libertarians could handle socialists. They have enough trouble handling republicans. :>)
Tell the truth, do you have any HARD evidence that Paul's campaign (his official campaign, not the work done independently by grassroots volunteers on his behalf) is in coordination with the MoveOn folks? If there is, I'd be the first to denounce Paul and won't support his candidacy from here on out.
Ive liked some things Paul has done very much, but this... Ouch!
The work done on Paul's campaign is DONE INDEPENDENTLY from Paul's official campaign! Ron Paul's campaign IS NOT COORDINATING THE MEET-UP GROUPS or other grass-roots stuff!
So anyone who chooses a candidate other than Ron Paul is a Ron Paul “hater”.... that’s a bit harsh don’t you think? —— RON PAUL FOR CONGRESS — DUNCAN HUNTER FOR COMMANDER IN CHIEF !! — Am I am Ron Paul hater?
Third party candidate followers sometimes get that accusation leveled at them. Look, I don’t think many of us are thrilled with what our side is doing at times. It can be very frustrating. Then you have to ask yourself what you want to do about it. Some people including myself have had to go third party.
I knew Bush was going to usher in a massive amount of illegal immigrants praising them every step of the way. I knew he was going to throw money a the Department of Education (doubling it in less than four years). I knew he was going to spend big as in a prescription plan for seniors. This drove me to distraction and I bailed in 2000.
Give me a solid conservative candidate and I’ll back him. Otherwise I may find someone else whose negatives are less than the main candidate’s.
That year you could have safely said both Republican and third party candidate supporters were sipping a bit of coolaide IMO.
What was it that you heard and saw?
I wouldn’t disagree with that. Third party candidates do siphen off votes. Askold Ross knows...
Of course traitors and defeatists will get together.
Nice. I thought this was a family oriented Forum.
So this is one guy on a message board suggesting that Paul supporters also support MoveON and some move on people inviting Paul supporters? I don’t see real news there.
So did I, but the Ron Turd faction has really sent it into a sewer.
So they have RSVP's from 12. They'll be lucky if six show up.
As of 2:15pm on August 25th, 12 moveon.org members have RSVP'd to attend the anti-war/"surprise" Ron Paul rally, and more will certainly rsvp before Tuesday. We need more of our Ron Paul supporting members to attend. Go to the calendar (next Tuesday, 28th) and sign up.
“Well, theres no real difference between Paulestinians and MoveOn.org when it comes to foreign policy”
lol, I’ll have to disagree here. Do you think Moveoners support getting out of the UN and nearly all other international organizations and treaties? I think not. Israel would be better off without us, IMO, withholding aid is not being ‘anti israel’ any more than scaling back welfare is ‘anti poverty’.
A lot of moveoners would probably support (or have supported) intervention in Sundan, bosnia, somalia, and/or don’t have clear thoughts on getting troups out of europe, south korea, and the so-called ‘entagling alliances’ forced upon us by the state department bureacrats and politicians from both parties.
Ron Paul’s foreign policy is rooted in reasons opposite those of libs, a non interventionist, small government, robert taft like approach.
The fact that a single Ron Paul supporter wants to go try to convert some moveoners doesn’t strike me as either newsworthy or revelationary. In fact, the more moveoners that are exposed to Ron Paul’s small gov foreign and domestic agenda, the better, IMO.
Who know, maybe Moveon will adopt some of Paul’s positions such as ‘abolishing the IRS’ and repealing current american socialism. I wouldn’t count on it... :)

You don’t get it do you. Even if your intentions are pure, you are supporting someone designed to split off a small margin of conservative voters that are hard core libre”tard”ian in their views. The ones who put the core of libretarianism above their willingness to see the bigger picture.
His support is x% people like you and y% moveon people or people of their ilk. You are being hoodwinked into thinking RP has a farts chance in a hurricane in order to negate your vote.
Get a friggin clue. You x’rs and being pulled around by a nose ring by a bunch of y’rs “uber geek libs” who have real and not figurative nose rings.
BTW, you know way way way too much about moveons internal functioning.
With all due respect, I never suggested that THIS effort was endorsed by the campaign. I simply asked if Rom Paul supporters on FR agree or disagree with this effort of some of Ron Paul’s supporters.. and if these folks accurately represent the view of their candidate...
LOL - MAD Magazine is still in publication, isn't it? Perhaps they might find an audience with the Paulies?
Then again, MAD may be too sophisticated. ;-)
