Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

Never seen so much filthy trash as when the Truthers, ANSWER or MoveOn goes on the march. Where do they find this much filth?

He speaks their parlance because he wants their money. Simple.

Conspirazoids do have deep pockets, as the have proved since 9/11.

The USA spent trillions of dollars to combat the evil Communism in a “COLD WAR”.

And Reagan didn't dick around either, did he?

Yes, we must spend billions and trillions of our tax payers money in this very “hot war” against islamic terrorists who want to destroy our freedom and our way of life

How can we win when the administration won't go to the mat for them or defend them against MSM/Democrat Party lies.

Actually, this soccermom was probably at her most conservative when she was 21. Well, I would say I'm just as conservative now -- just not gung-ho reactionary the way I was back then. I understand your point that people can change ---- but that many times in 3 years?

Sometimes creative folks with strong mental abilities have a certain impatience for results. And in 2004, Karsten was only 18. I would guess he switched parties a few times for special elections, etc. where party affiliation didn't mean much, especially in Kali. But that's his business. This website would be pretty empty if we demanded absolute lifetime conservative consistency from our members. In fact, since our forum's owner is a former Democrat, he's have to ban himself first. Now, that just wouldn't work, would it?

Well, I could type a bunch more but you know what follows that argument. So you may as well just agree with me and save us both some time and keystrokes. LOL.

Just yesterday, you and EEE were whining that this thread was sooooooooo unfair because it was guilt-by-association.

Maybe EEE. I don't think I used a guilt-by-association argument, not a favorite of mine generally.

"But our message is a classic conservative Republican message of liberty and small-government. Exactly as Kirsten and his Meetup comrade, theoreticalgirl, have shown in their posts here."

I just love quoting you quoting me. Call it a weakness.

If RP activists are going to recruit at moonbat events, you can't turn around and whine when we link RP to moonbats.

Why don't we wait and see their after-action report and photos? Isn't the proof in the pudding?

You know, our mods have let people on this board recently that actually advocate full-blown socialism. They're blatant about it, I kept suggesting they go to a liberal forum for people like them, not mean, just obviously they had no clue what a conservative or even a Republican is. EEE has seen some of this stuff too. Nothing about our two new RP supporters even comes close to some of the other stuff that has gone unchallenged here at the forum in recent months.

Reagan did not wage a hot war against the communists, so don’t pretend he did. He was patient, and he was unrelenting. And he didn’t quit because somebody said, “There will always be communists.”

No offense taken, but there’s no comma after the “No” in your sentence.

So now you say it’s wrong for Ron Paul supporters to align with Moveon.org. Finally.

I've always said it. I mentioned it near the beginning of the thread. I do not approve of Paul supporters colluding with or working with left-wing groups such as MoveOn.org or anarchist-libertarian types. I'd be the first to denounce Paul and dissociate myself from supporting him if his OFFICIAL CAMPAIGN openly accepts such support.

In retrospect, it was an unwise move that inspired the Moslems to view us as weak, like our withdrawal from Somalia, and like a withdrawal from Iraq would do.

President Bush did not "dick" either and he is taking the fight right in the heart of terrorism land, the Middle East.

Despite all the "Arabic Type" rhetoric and machosim that the traitors and their media use everyday, they lost every battle with President Bush on the war.

God bless our brave troops and President Bush.

You are a defeatist so do not create lies about President Bush not fighting and make excuses for your defeatism.

Again, you’ll always find reasons for surrender. You’re a defeatist.

Again, define surrender.

So you drum up some things as if they’re mutually exclusive. For example, you imply that if we stay in Iraq the border cannot be secured. How do you know it will take two generations? Were you there? Last fall, people said Ramadi was lost. Now, we see it isn’t.

Big difference between actual combat & police action refeering sectarian violence between Muslim factions while trying to make democracy work.

What do you know about waging war? Were you in the service? If so, what branch?

I enlisted in the Navy. Great Lakes in August 1990. Iraq invaded Kuwait that same month. The unit I was in was scheduled to go to the Gulf. I received an honorable discharge due to an eye condition after 3 weeks.

It’s funny; they bash Bush for not withdrawing and then they bash him for not being more bloody violent. They want to have it both ways with only one real goal: undermine the war. In effect, they’re objectively aiding al Qaeda.

Agree FRiend. Also the USA fought the communists for decades before President Reagan so I do not think it is historically fair to say that he alone won the cold war. President Truman, Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ, Nixon, Reagan, and Bush Sr all deserve credit in fighting the communism and bringing it to an end, and this end happened during President Reagan and President Bush Sr. administrations.

PS: I lobve your tagline :)
