Ron Paul supporters urged to attend MoveOn.org Rally !
RonPaul MeetUp Group ^ | 26 August 2007 | David Osborne

Posted on 08/26/2007 10:44:41 AM PDT by davidosborne

Many of you know that I help organize the Duncan Hunter "meetup" group(s). I decided to peek in at the "competition" and found it very interesting that Ron Paul supporters are being urged to attend the MoveOn.org rally....

http://ronpaul.meetup.com/1/boards/view/viewthread?thread=3421862

I post this because I know there are a lot of folks on FR that support Ron Paul.. I just wonder if you are participating in this effort.. or what you think about this whole business of catering to MoveOn.org

.... quote from an active Ron Paul supporter

Somebody posted a thread concerning moveon, and letting their members know about Ron Paul. As a member of moveon.org, I received today an invitation to create an anti-war rally on August 28th. They will be doing rallies all across the nation on that day. We should invade this event. During the rally, bring anti-war stickers, signs, and flags -- and also Ron Paul signs. Introduce moveon members to Ron Paul, the REAL anti-war candidate! Anti-war people will ask about Ron Paul and be introduced to him on that day. Don't be rude, just gently introduce people to the peace candidate. Moveon.org is well cordinated, so if enough of our people show up at their rallies, we might be able to convert a huge number of people.

I have already created a moveon.org anti-war rally, on the 28th at 7pm, right outisde of the West Covina Mall. Please, everybody who can in this group, COME. It's on the corner of Vincent and Plaza Drive in West Covina.

See post 1014. It reeks of defeatism.

"there's always going to be terrorists...." boo hoo let's surrender.

There are a thousand reasons for people like you to surrender.

Define surrender. We're not giving up OUR land to a foreign occupier or power. It's not surrender, it's not cut-and-runnign. Please bear with me here. Iraq is a sovereign nation now. They had their elections. Saddam is dead. Al-Zarqarwi is dead. The Taliban and Al-Quaeda are weakened now. How much do you think it'll cost for our troops to remain there for another generation or two with negligible accomplishments in terms of instilling a democracy that's not part of the military's job? How many terrorists do you think we can kill and how many are out there regenerating and taking their place?

Do you honestly agree we should remain there as long as possible at a cost of billions of dollars while our borders remain open, mosques are being built, and we disregard the Islamofascism that's breeding within our country because we naively believe said religion is a religion of peace? Do you agree that our troops basically had the rug pulled out from under them, and haven't been allowed to wage war as they should? Do you think our troops should be "keeping the peace" or building Iraqi schools, bridges, and infrastructure? Do you agree that Bush is not communicating the successes of Iraq as he should?

What’s striking is they combine the isolationist tendencies of Buchanan with the anti-war of Kucinich. Is Ron Paul like the clearinghouse of anti-conservative attackers? Why would RP assign himself the catalyst of all these whackjob factions? Including the trutherists?

A lot of them are David Duke admirers.

See, here's a prime example of your BS right here. You blindly smear Paul supporters with garbage like this, and the worse thing about it is you PING all your friends and repeat it another way and post that stupid link. Nobody on this damn Forum admires David Duke, neo-Nazism, or the Klan. This is simply disingenous behavior that just as bad as Paul supporters aligning themselves with MoveOn.org or other left-wing groups.

Thanks for the ping elhombrelibre.

EEE:

The USA spent trillions of dollars to combat the evil Communism in a “COLD WAR”. Yes, we must spend billions and trillions of our tax payers money in this very “hot war” against islamic terrorists who want to destroy our freedom and our way of life. We must win this war no matter how long it takes, and no matter how much sacrifice we need to make, or else we will face consequences that are worst than any nightmare we cannot imagine.

Again, you’ll always find reasons for surrender. You’re a defeatist. So you drum up some things as if they’re mutually exclusive. For example, you imply that if we stay in Iraq the border cannot be secured. How do you know it will take two generations? Were you there? Last fall, people said Ramadi was lost. Now, we see it isn’t. What do you know about waging war? Were you in the service? If so, what branch? That’s just another piece of claptrap to undermine those who are fighting. I agree that Bush is being undermined by relentless know-nothings, like Ron Paul and his cult members. I won’t blame Bush. You are the one dedicated to doing that.

So now you say it’s wrong for Ron Paul supporters to align with Moveon.org. Finally.

You love big things, don’t you! Big pictures, big rotting herrings, big government warfare state. Mighty impressive. Missing: a picture of your bigness holding a big gun in defense of Fatherland.

He was on Medved today, and he was implying that the government probably did a poor job on its investigation. He also wants to pull out of everywhere that al Qaeda wants us to leave. He’s the best candidate al Qaeda could have.

Exchange between Ron Paul and a truther on the Alex Jones show in Janruary

CALLER: I want a complete, impartial, and totally independent investigation of the events of September 11, 2001 . I’m tired of this bogus garbage about terrorism. Ask Michael Meacher about how he feels about this bogus war on terrorism. Can you comment on that please?

HON. DR. RON PAUL: Well, that would be nice to have. Unfortunately, we don’t have that in place. It will be a little bit better now with the Democrats now in charge of oversight. But you know, for top level policy there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two policies so a real investigation isn’t going to happen. But I think we have to keep pushing for it. And like you and others, we see the investigations that have been done so far as more or less cover-up and no real explanation of what went on.

Yeah, he’s all for buttering up America’s enemies, like al Qaeda. For them, he’s sweetness and charity. I notice his fan club only has rancor for folks like us too.

Ron Paul supporters don’t believe that only a select few has ownership of his messages. We take it to neighborhood events, farmers markets, gun shows, and anti-war rallies. We aren’t interested in party-line restrictions or insulated alignments. We believe that his idea of peace, liberty and Constitutionalism can be appreciated by all.

How.. can any of us convince you of the necessity to check Islam. It doesn't happen but every few hundred years, but this time they're bringing trillions of billions of dollars to their caliphate table.

Likely they pwn half or more of our legislature and bureaucracies. More than likely the same in France, Holland, Australia, England, Spain.

You can see a desperate attempt at turn-back, on the part of the US and the above countries, can't you see the effort?

About immigration: already law enforcement is turning THAT tide: they had to wait until amnesty was off the table.

W is an enigma, I agree. But you have to look at the results, effects of policy, and things are finally starting to move the right way in the areas that bother you (and us.)
